The song that I chose for today is “傾心傾意傾神” by Dicky Cheung. This song was somewhat popular, it is one of those that are important in Dicky’s music career. The title is a bit hard to translate as there aren’t really direct words that cover the meaning, the closest one that I can come up with is “Heart, thought and spirit all leaning”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that his heart, thought and spirit are all leaning toward her. Only love this person for this life.  His heart, is totally captured and shocked. She is the one that make a lost heart reborn and filled with life. He never knew that love is so exciting. He remember that time when they meet, it was like in a movie. He is willing to follow all her instruction, just like as if he has been minded controlled. Now that he finally understand the true of love, just like many other love story, he is willing to change for her, just hope that she will be serious about this relationship. In his life, this is the first time he felt that he found a purpose; just like he found a good partner that can go through the finish point on the love journey. Hope you will like the song.

The song for today is “真真假假” by Dicky Cheung. Many people forgot that Dicky can sing. He started his career from a singing contest, but he wasn’t too lucky, being in the 90’s Hong Kong music industry with a lot of big figure, he didn’t manage to make a big name for himself before he toke a different path. These days he acts more often than he sings, I think he produce a song maybe once every few years. This song was one of my favourite from Dicky, if I remember correctly, it was a theme song for a TV drama. The drama was big back then and because of the drama this song imprinted in my head. The direct English translation of the title is “Real and fake”.

The lyrics of the song are about the realness of love. The protagonist said that when we lost love, we pretend that we don’t care. When we got love, it hurt so much that we can’t speak. We can’t tell between real and fake as our heart is like a mess. He said “I love you”, but he wonder whether you would really believe it. Got told off for real or being told that we are loved for fake, which one is scarier? Real acting and the fake you, both cute? Real dream, fake tears, which need to be investigated? He wonder if he said he believe you, would you believe him. There are always illusions in love, and there are lies in love. So there is no need to distinguish between real and fake. Being real for once, is that good enough? Let just lie for the rest of our life as there is no need to find out who is right and who is wrong. Perhaps we are worry about being real, so maybe fake is better. There is no point to distinguish real or fake, all we need is to believe. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “足球小將” by Dicky Cheung. Dicky used to be a singer, but these days are more successful in his actor career, so he hardly produces any new song. The song chosen for today can be considered as one of his classic. It was the theme song for the Japanese soccer animation “Captain Tsubasa” (足球小將).

The lyrics of the song are about passion. The lyrics start off with the protagonist saying that let the wild fire lit me up. I will be full of confidence, I would not be worry or afraid. This is the passion of my youth. Let my heart beat, beat so fast that it will make spark. Each step that I take will be full of confidence and I would not lie. Ar, Ar, Ar, if I am unhappy, I will not think about it, I would only want to play soccer. Who would afraid of cold wind, we will kick winter back to it home. Since we are still young, we should aim at our dream and chase after it. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “身體健康” by Dicky Cheung. From memory this song came out in 2003 in Hong Kong, when SARS was breaking out. This song did quite popular because of SARS because the title means “healthy”. The singer of the song, Dicky, is more famous for his TV drama. He started his career in a singing contest, however his songs weren't popular enough. So he end up acting in dramas and movie and got quite successful. These days he still sing, but usually in the form of the group “Big 4”, formed by Dicky Cheung, Edmond Leung,  Andy Hui and William So. The other 3 member is still very active in their singing career.

Like I have mentioned earlier about the title, this song is about keeping healthy. In this song, the protagonist found out that he is very sick (got cancer or something similar), he wishes that he could be healthy so that his wife don’t have to take care and look after him (so that he wouldn’t become the burden of his wife). This song brings us a message that we could have everything in the world, but if we aren’t healthy enough, we wouldn’t even have the chance to enjoy it. The lyrics are very toughing.
