The
song for today is “眼紅館” by Kenny Kwan. I personally don’t
like Kenny as to date, I still think that he can’t sing :p But what can you do
with a generation of singer that sell their looks more than their singing
technique. This song is actually one of his more popular song and personally
quite like the song (much prefer someone else sing it thought). The title of
the song actually plays with words. You can break the title up to two parts “眼紅”
and “紅館”. “眼紅” means red eyes, indicating crying
eyes, while “紅館” is the short way of calling 香港體育館 (Hong
Kong Coliseum, people usually call it 紅磡體育館, hence紅館).
Hong Kong Coliseum is a place famous for concert in Hong Kong, it is the
location that first tier singer (at least used to be) used for concert, so many
singers used that as their aim and an indication of their popularity.
The
lyrics of the song are about the protagonist go to a concert and remembered
that last time, his ex-girlfriend was there with him and he feels lonely. It
said, those that he loved, come and sing together, applaud with ten thousand
people. The glow sticks are glowing, but the memories are shinier. He thought
about that night, the two in the stadium singing the encore section loudly.
Those that happened, now will never happen again but he still dream about it.
Yelling loudly, perhaps go onto the stage again. Couldn’t believe this section,
perhaps it become a concert without the encore section. Ho he ho, who was the
person that said to him that the stadium was cold. Ho he ho, who was the person
that accompanied me to hand the flower to the performer? He realised that his
eyes are red, and she is not in the old seat. It felt like that in a concert
that hasn’t reaches its climax but the light is all turned on. He believed that
she got red eyes as well. If she felt lonely as well, perhaps they both could
yell in the Coliseum. No matter how noisy it gets, when he got dump he will cry.
Those that had cried come and sing together as it will help healing. Glow sticks
are getting dim, and soon it will be through away, similar to the relationship.
Still haven’t seen the concert from last year.
