The song for today is “某年某日” by Raidas. I came across this song accidentally the other day. It is rather different to the songs that I heard from that time period. The direct English translation of the title is “Some year some day”.

The lyrics are about life. It said: “On the 5th of February, I meet with my friend. Couldn’t remember how we decided to get together, only remember that day we talked about the news and the weather. Secrets, avoided and avoided. The 8th of February, me and my lover were at the old place. Couldn’t remember whether we were happy or sad. Only remember that we argued. The song for today is “傾心” by Raidas. Raidas was popular in the 80’s. This song was popular back at the time when it came out. The closest English translation of the title is “Adore” (while that is still not quite correct as to its Chinese counterpart, but close enough I guess).

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that he once asked himself, and thought that he looks stupid; he also asked himself, and noticed that he is not attractive; but he dreamed to be with her. So please understand that he had started to adore her even when she didn’t notice. The closer they are, the less he is daring to ask; the closer they are, the less he is willing to get closer. He felt down, only pain is trapped in his heart. How, at the corner of the window in her heart, to foggily show his love to her? The weather changes constantly and it always cloudy. He wishes to be circling in front of her window, letting the rain and the wind blow at him; he will still be willing to do so without regret. He is willing to wait; this love will be forever engraved in his heart. Helplessly, he let the scenery shine; helplessly, let that other guy hand happiness to her; at that time, he handed over his sadness to her. Infatuation, quietly let him to be with her.
