The song for today is “舊街角” by Shiga Lin. This is a new song from Shiga. The direct English translation of the title is “Old street corner”.

The lyrics of the song are about the good old days. The protagonist said: “Corner of the street, the little shop. Recorded with the happy photo. Saw, cry and laughter, very shallow. The song for today is “為何要我愛上你” by Shiga Lin. This is Shiga’s newest song. The direct English translation of the title is “Why do I need to love you”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said: “if it is just loved a little bit, then it doesn’t matter. Lonely as usual, I can still treat it like normal. But sadly I bump into people like you, making me shake even when I breath. Not dare to speak up or speak low. The more I care the more it make people hate it. I rather live with mask on so that we can look like a good match. I don’t know how lovely I am, but during love I just think I am sick, so stressed that it usually doesn’t have an ending. The song for today is “水星逆行” by Shiga Lin. This is a song released earlier this year. The direct English translation of the title is “Mercury move in reverse”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that she heard that when water move in reverse, it is so mean, makes people very hard to calm down or happy. What’s lost would not be found, love each other or one way love will both lead to dead end. Complain, blame, why stars are so cruel. Tried to make fun of him and her, but she is a bit lost now, the feeling of the end. She hoped for a kiss, but it never happened. She wanted for a holiday trip, but the land sink. Moon and stars are so dim, even when the sun is out she feels dark. Even as hard as she tried, she still feels sad. She wishes for a partner, but that partner is too cruel. The song for today is “時間開的玩笑” by Shiga Lin. This song was released earlier this year. The direct English translation of the title is “A joke that time made”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that a special someone could understand every drop of her tears. He would understand her. She wonders whether he knows how sad and beautiful this feeling is. She is grateful and at the same time sad. She can only blame herself that her mouth didn’t speak of her heart. Even when she really wanted to fallen in love, true words just wanted to avoid her mouth. That’s why it looks so passive. Because of that she decided that they are best friend. But then she realised that this is more like a wound, they don’t need to hold hands and they will not breakup. But why she doesn’t want this type of freedom. It would be great if she could know him earlier. If she didn’t first hit her lowest point and tangled by painful feeling, then she wouldn’t have been a coward, hiding her heartbeat. The song for today is “說一句” by Shiga Lin. This song is requested by a fellow follower of this blog. This is a relatively new song, which came out last year. The official English title of the song is “Once said”. It is rather special that Shiga’s song always accompany with an official English name, while the official English title is not a direct compatible translation to the Chinese title, I guess it is a better match to the song and sounds more professional.

Like many other’s Shiga’s song, this one is about love. The lyrics said that the protagonist still hasn’t deleted the breakup private message. That hug that they had on the street is still remains in her heart. It doesn’t hurt, not dare to feel that it hurt. Perhaps he minds that she is full of scars. Who would want to keep repeating to love the same person? Has luck to meet, but not being able to continue, why border to keep feeling the pain? Without him today, there would be some excitement that could stop her heart from breaking. Which one will be better than him or worse than him? Does it really matter? Say that you have let it go, but in your heart you thought about it even more. In this world of love, being truthful or lie, there will always be someone that accompanies you. So stop asking about that small difference. Will found someone better, or worse, is that even important? She got dump by him, so she need to work hard to learn to be more elegant. The song for today is “只要和你在一起” by Shiga Lin. This is a rather new song, only got out around a month or so. The official English title of the song is “Gotta be with you”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that In a busy and noisy night in the city, she stopped and looked back from a quiet corner and realised that everyone is in a rush. She wished that she could hold his hand and not let go. She feels that loving him will light up her life. She just wanted to kiss, and ignore other peoples that stare at her in this dangerous city. All the people speaking behind her back have brought her lot of troubles that she can’t speak out. She window shopped at the wedding shops in the city and wanted to stare at all those wedding photos. Why love is worth to tide two people together. If they are attached by earth and sky, they will resist together, withstanding rain and eventually sunny sky will return. There will be many troubles on the way and we might bump into the future. Just close her eyes and breathe then follow him to fall into the sea. They should not be apart even in disaster, but there are many unexpected things in life. If they can’t climb over the cliff, then how could they love? Regardless of how others see them, they will still go forward. She decided that she will be with him for the rest of her life. If the world couldn’t accept them, then don’t give up; whether they go forward or backward, they will not destroy love. If they don’t have names, then they would not need to report to anyone. 20th Oct 2013 (起跑 – Shiga Lin)

The song that I chose for today is “起跑” by Shiga Lin. This song came out last year. If you have been listening to Singa’s songs, you would have notice that her song somewhat connected, they tell a love story and each songs dedicated to a different stage of a relationship. This ‘story’ was summed up quite well by her last album “Moving on”. The story goes from a girl wishing to fall in love (“讓我享受談戀愛”), to after breaking up she still wishes that they could be together (“I’m still loving you”), then to the next song (“到此為止”) which is about her ex-boyfriend have moved on, but she still think about their past. After that in the second last song (“好好過”) she tried to move on as she knows that she can’t be like that for the rest of her life. And finally to this song (“起跑”), she can finally move on. The direct English translation of the title is “Start running”, which give the sense that she is finally ready to start a new relationship.

The lyrics are of cause about love and continue on the story. At the beginning, she told herself that the past have past, but why she is still torturing herself. The past have past, but why her brain is still thinking about the past and hurt herself. So let’s stop wasting time, as she realised that she can jump out of the box. Start running has made her to pull herself away, she finally understands that she doesn’t need to fix all the things; she could just leave it aside even though when she is out of breath. There are many kilometers in life, when she have reach the end she wouldn’t remember him. After she decided to restart her life, she tried to do something new every day. She tried to take control of her life once more and escape all the troubles in life. Every day and night, no matter it was a hot day or rainy day, up in the mountain or near the cost, she will be there. When she sweet, she escape the pain, and without knowing it, running have made her feel better. Running let her escape. Sometime she is out of breath, but she finally makes a break through. This is magical, and she can run for a few more kilometers. She keep running to another day, her body is already escaped, her legs had jumped over the memories and she had got over her ex. She is sired and she understands that there are unlimited kilometers in her life. She finally feels that she doesn’t need to remember. Everything fades away. Hope you like the ending of this story.

The song that I chose for today is “讓我享受談戀愛” by Shiga Lin. Since I mentioned about this song yesterday, I guess I should talk about it in a post to complete the collection. The direct English translation of the title is “Let me enjoy love”. Like I mentioned yesterday, this song can be view as the first part of Shiga’s love story series. If you missed the others, you can get to them through the links below. The order goes like this: “讓我享受談戀愛” -> “I’m still loving you” -> “到此為止” -> “好好過”.

The lyrics are about a girl that wanted to fall in love. The protagonist is thinking about a boy and she dream that their love could last forever. In the lyrics it shows that this is the very beginning of their love story, not sure whether the boy loves her back, but she seems to only think of the good side of falling in love with him. So in a way it makes sense why she needs all the other songs to recover. I hope you will enjoy this song, and if you missed the others, you really should listen to them all at once to get a feel of the love story.

22nd Jul 2012 (好好過 – Shiga Lin)

Today’s song is “好好過” by Shiga Lin. This song is quite new, it just came out a few weeks ago. If you read the comments below the you tube video people listen to this song in conjunction with “讓我享受談戀愛”, “I’m still loving you” and “到此為止”. The title in English is “Living happily”.

Many people see the 4 songs as a package, in fact they do connect up to become a story. I haven’t talk about “讓我享受談戀愛” in my posts yet, but from the title you can guess that it is about a girl wanting to fall in love. “I’m still loving you” is about the girl just got dump and saying that she still love her ex and she don’t deserve this ending. There is bitterness and somewhat anger in the song. “到此為止” is about she got dump but she is still thinking about her ex, but it is less bitter and more about the happy things that they did together, so the song got more sorrow. So you can feel that the girl have forgiven her ex-boyfriend for dumping her, but just started to try to move on. Now in the latest song “好好過”, it is about that she still feels the sorrow and she is trying hard to move on. She is deeply hurt and she is experiencing lack of sleep. She is trying hard to move on and her friends are helping her to move on. She still think of him from time to time, but she hope that her sadness could fade away just like he had fade away from her life. At the end of the song, she is telling herself that everyone would experience this once in a life. She can now carry out her day to day life as normal, and she know that she had moved on. She knows that she is now ready to fall in love with a new guy.

Personally I quite like this song, as it brings a good ending (at least for now) to the story. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

18th Jul 2012 (I’m still loving you – Shiga Lin)

Today’s song is “I’m still loving you” By Shiga Lin. This song came out in 2011 and it was a theme song for a movie that Shiga star in. I haven’t seen the movie myself as I am not interested in that type of movie, but this song is very nice, it demonstrate the beauty of Shiga’s voice. She also managed to bring out the sorrow of the song.

The lyrics is in English, so I guess I don’t really have to go in depth to translate it. The main idea of the song is that it describing the feeling of betrayal in love. The protagonist is questioning by her ex-boyfriend left her while they had so many good times together.

From the lyrics point of view, I think this song can be seen as the prequel of Singa’s “到此為止”. I really like this song, so I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
