20th Dec 2014 (心聲 – Cally Kwong)

The song for today is “心聲” by Cally Kwong. I heard this song a few days ago on a radio show. While I was far too young when this song was released in 1988, but for some reason (perhaps because it was used as a theme song for a TV drama) the melody and the chorus of the song sound so familiar. The direct English translation of the title is “Heartfelt wishes”.

The lyrics of the song are about the purpose of life. The protagonist said that she is facing the night sky alone, and realised that the darkness are so deep. So many interactions can occur, so how is it possible to predict correctly. Human, in this broad universe, is just a tiny dot, and fade away from the rainbow in the sky. But her life must have some content, it couldn’t be control by time. No matter how hard she fall, if she didn’t achieve her dreams then she will not give up. Gazing at the starry sky again, she now found that this nightly sky is empty, but many things had happened in the mortal world. Watching at the wind and quite place with tears in the eyes, she is willing to become the light wind at night. The world felt like it is empty, but not yet empty; it is hard to understand whether it is happiness or pain. Laugh heartlessly, then she wonder why she wanted to chase after that tiny bit of love. A bit of love will allow their heart to communicate, and it would no longer to cold. So please let her treasure all the happy faces, and let happiness be forever imprinted in her heart. Even at the end she still doesn’t know how to evolve, she would still be able to let her heart to relax. Hope you will like the song.

22nd July 2014 (堆積情感 – Cally Kwong)

The song for today is “堆積情感” by Cally Kwong. This song was from 1986 and it was requested by a fellow reader of the blog. The direct English translation of the title is “Accumulated emotions”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that she can’t resist love as she still dream of him. She accumulates every bit of love when she misses him. She wanted to let him know that love is like rain, it is out of her control. Love will remain in her heart and that she wanted to wanton. She wanted to ask him not to change his love toward her, as she is willing to give him everything. She accumulates every bit of love when she misses him. Who would have thought that their love wouldn’t be able to continue, getting her sad every day. She cries at the rain over the long lonely night. Loving softly, accumulating to the future, but fail to love deeper. Loving softly, staring into the stars, the stain from her tears on the corner of her eyes will always carry love. She can’t resist love as she still dream of him. She accumulates every bit of love when she misses him. Love is like the four seasons, there are no ends and all she could do is to follow him and hope that one day she could understand the next stage of their love.  Hope you will like the song.

12th July 2014 (祇有情永在 – Jacky Cheung & Cally Kwong)

The song for today is “祇有情永在” by Jacky Cheung and Cally Kwong. This is a song requested by a reader of this blog. From memory this song was quit a hit back at the time when it was released. The direct English translation of the title is “Only love will last forever”.

The lyrics of the song are about. It said we no longer know how to tell right from wrong; too lazy to ask how to separate kindness and blame. When everything is like a ‘floating cloud’ (this is a Chinese phrase, meaning things are vague, uncertain) and only love will last forever, then let just remember some love in our heart. Will not ask again whether it is worth loving. In the sea of love, everything is right. Not worry about losing; and not hard to replace, then we can found love even in the sound of wind. Not worry to be separated, even if we do, we would know that the beautiful will remain. So why worry whether there would be an accident as our heart would never change. We no longer need to say we love each other every day, and too lazy to determine the state of love in our heart. There would be a day we need to be separate, but it will not be an obstacle. We will found love in the wind, we will found love in nature. Hope you will like the song.
