The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said dream, a long lasting dream, a lifelong dream. He was naïve and undoubtful, now all he got life is just pain. He once was touched. She was unpredictable, and she comes and goes just like that. Wrong, telling him is not wrong, but tells him what to do. Now he is quietly saying that he was never wrong. Don’t say too much, but there are lot that she hasn’t said. He is lonely, a heart breaking song, whose fault? He tried not to say anymore, as he is the only person here. Time goes by, and if he turn his head around, it taste bitter. He can’t forget, he doesn’t know how to cry. The song for today is “為愛情受傷” by Emil Chau. This song was quite popular back in the 90’s. The direct English translation of the title is “Get hurt for love”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that if he sing and play an instrument at the same time at night, then his voice would probably sound sadder. He is trying to fulfil his dream, but at the end he didn’t hear her appreciate it. With a piano on his side, at lease he would be worry to be lonely. He shares his past with everyone, but she is the only one that didn’t show up. He rather laugh when other laugh than to get hurt. He rather exchanges his tears to sweat and wish that she could see it. If they could be together forever, then perhaps he couldn’t reach where he is today. If they bump into each other, would she feel proud of him? It sounds good to be got hurt for love. He got hurt because of her, but she is the only one that doesn’t care. He wanted to let his tears out, but her is worry that he will use his tears to exchange for her to pity him. He uses singing to express his emption. The lyrics of the song are about love. The lyrics begin with the protagonist telling us the he will store his sorrow without a word for his girlfriend. He loves to listen to her happiness, even for a century. There is no need for a reason to love, all it takes is courage. The ending don’t need to be beautiful either, all he cares about is the process. He wishes that she could believe there is a person that knows how to love her. He closes his eyes and prays for her. If there is no love, no matter how good a song is, it will not last. He wishes that his world would begin from her, so no matter how difficult it gets, he will not give up. The song that I chose for today is “放棄你留住你” by Emil Chau. The direct English translation of the title is “Give you up, retain you”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist is a singer and he like to expressing his feeling through song. While other appreciates his song, no one really listen to the lyrics or understands his expression. Every time he sing, the lyrics cuts his heart and every time he cried. He wanted to let go of her and at the same time retain her, but this hurt him. He wanted to sing, but without her listening he doesn’t see the purpose of singing. There are flaws in his song if he tried to hold up his emotion, but yet he keeps singing for her. But listening to the applause from the audience sounds fake, and it hurt him even more. When there is no one around him, he keeps singing to express his feeling. The lyrics just hurt him more and he is very upset. Hope you will enjoy the song.

The song that I chose for today is “好想哭” by Emil Chau. The direct English translation of the title is “Wanted to cry”. I chose this song today as the title perfectly describe my feeling. My emotion these days are very fluctuating, I can swing from being happy to sad in a few second. I was still quite happy this morning, but just a few minute ago I heard something negative and my feeling just drop.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist can’t let go of his love toward his ex-girlfriend. The protagonist said that when he kisses her eyes, he see eternality; he kisses her nose and she can’t forget him. Lastly he kissed her lips. But he can’t recall how long ago that was. He can only remember to the time when he spent a few nights at her place. He wanted to cry, to cry out all the bitterness of being helpless. He knows that there would be no one to calm him down. He thought that a few years later he would have got used to the pain. But now a few years have gone by and he can still feel the pain. He recently had seen her with another guy. The song that I chose for today is “雪中火” by Emil Chau. I didn’t quite enjoy Emil’s music when I was young, perhaps it was because he was described as the “Killer of the 4 kings of Canton Pop” and back then I was a fan of Leon Lai (one of the 4 kings of Canton Pop). A few years ago, I went over to my friends place and accidently listened to one of the few songs that I like from Emil, it was then I really open my mind to Emil’s music. After that, I search everywhere for Emil’s songs in hope to found more of my childhood favourite songs that I don’t know the name of and also hope to search for some hidden gold. My passion of searching Emil’s song had now faded, but the song that I chose for today remain as one of my favourite of Emil. The direct English translation of the title is “Fire in the snow”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist fallen in love with a girl, but the girl is quite resist to his love. He figure out that she is worries that the mismatch of their personally would make them a bad match. She is cold in personality while the protagonist is passionate and friendly. So the protagonist told her that many things in the world doesn’t seems to match, like a warm fire on a snow mountain, perhaps they don’t seems to match, but they will understand each other and eventually work out, so he told her if she believe, then they wouldn’t fail. The song that I chose for today is “誰叫我” by Emil Chau. Emil was once very famous in Hong Kong (around the early 90’s). He was born in Hong Kong, but later on went to Taiwan. He became popular in Taiwan first, so popular that even Hong Kong people knows him. As he was so popular, he also started his music career in Hong Kong. In the 90’s he was framed as the “Killer of the 4 kings of Canton Pop”, people see that he is as popular as the 4 kings of Canton pop. But in the late 90’s he stop producing Cantonese album, and slowly he was fading out of the Hong Kong music industry. The direct English translation of the song’s title is “Who called me”, while in contact of the lyrics, it actually means “Why”.

The lyrics is about questioning ourselves. The lyrics go like this: Why can’t I afford what I needed to pay for, why can’t I leave my busy work, why can’t I hold on to my happy feeling, this is such a fragile feeling. Why can’t I start the things that I planned, why can’t I leave the warmness of going home, why do I worry about the tiredness from romance, but when it is over I regret. Is it because I am an average guy? Is it because I fall in love too deep that the love turns to hate? Or should I blame the world for the fact that there is no perfection? Why do I felt cold when I was lonely, scare to speak up when I was in love and feel weak when I was in the dark? Please don’t tell me that average guys will always think too much. Who would wish to have love but lose ourselves and who likes to stay in the past but not to think of the future? I guess I just have to blame myself for releasing my anger when I was tired, get drunk when I lost myself and only to regain myself when everything was over. Please don’t tell me that I only think too much because I was bored. Why.
