The song for today is “Miss Fiona” by Fiona Sit. This is Fiona latest song. This song is very different to what Fiona used to sing. While I can’t say I like this style of her, but it is defiantly refreshing, and the song is rather fun and very catchy.

I think the lyrics of the song are about being herself. She said: “Oh oh Please call me Fiona

The song for today is “有隻雀仔” by Fiona Sit. This song is in reference to the Chinese version of “London Bridge is falling down” which is called “有隻雀仔跌落水” (A bird fallen into the water). The lyrics of the Chinese version of “London Bridge is falling down” is just about a bird fallen into the water and it was washed away by the water current (quite dark actually, considering that it is a nursery rhyme). The direct English translation of Fiona’s song is “A bird”.

The lyrics of the song are in reference to “有隻雀仔跌落水”, in this song though, it expended on why the bird fallen into the water. It also uses the bird fallen into the water as a metaphor of losing our dream. But instead of the bird dying, the bird will survive and learn how to swimming, implying that even when situation changes, we can still achieve what we wanted under this new condition. It said: “A rainy day, it rained for seven night straight and become a flood. Everyone in the city got washed away. Got tired and landed in the forest, but still got drifted away by the current. Under the flow, under the flood, already out of strength to chase the dreams from the childhood. Poor in my childhood but gazed up and wanted to travel far to see the biggest bird nest. The song for today is “樓梯轉角” by Fiona Sit. This song was released in 2007, the direct English translation of the title is “Just around the corner of the stair”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist realising the change of the relationship between herself and her boyfriend. It said, she is just around the corner, if he called, she would just turn around. But why keep waiting, as no one would beg her not to leave. The corner around the stair is always hers. It is the resting place for her after they argued. Always, she walked slower for him, hoping that in ten seconds he will come and save her. She cries on the stair. When they were still deeply in love, he would chase after her and carry her back. He would also apologise, but now she couldn’t see any sign of him. She got more and more down. Being a couple for a few years, yet the feeling could still die out days after days. She knows that she lack self-confident, also don’t like to listen to others and annoying. Always practices for the fake break up (I think here it is trying to say that the protagonist always uses break up to threaten her boyfriend), no wonder she never got a pass. Around the corner of the stair, she is still trying to hold up, worrying that one day he will finally open his eyes and understand that it is not worth it to go her way so easily as she is still so annoying. She cries on the stair. The longer they were in love, the more she feels that the relationship between them is thin. Love each other, but don’t want to be together. She is relief, as she knows who she could rely on for the rest of her life. If her partner doesn’t chase her back, then it is time to make the decision. The song for today is “最後最後” by Fiona Sit. I love the melody of this song and it is a song that I recently listen to a lot. The direct English translation of the title is “Last last”.

The lyrics of the song are about a relationship that is about to end. The protagonist said that the light could only shine for one more dance. She is worried that if she start to cry now she will not be able to see him again. So she focused on dancing and not dare to count down. She is hoping that the breakup could be delayed, even by a minute. She hopes that this moment could shine brighter than fireworks, even though their brightness moment might only last for a split second. She hopes that the romance could cover the loneliness. If fireworks fade, then at least let it blossom a bit. Reluctantly to let go, could he give her a few more second. Please don’t ask how much you will hear if I said I love you when we are about to say good bye. Sadly the second hand of the clock runs too quickly, couldn’t wait until dawn. The song that I chose for today is “奇洛李為斯回信” by Fiona Sit. The direct English translation of the title is “Keanu Reeves’ reply”. According to a recent post from Wyman (the lyrics writer of the song), the lyrics was based on a story of his friend (who recently passed away) who wrote letters to Madonna every day despite that all her friends were making fun of her and eventually got a reply from her.

The lyrics of the song are about a girl writing a letter to Keanu Reeves every day. It said she write a letter every day, each letter consist of 600 “I love you”. She had been writing for 10 years now and she hasn’t got sick of it. She believes that she will get a reply about whether Hollywood is beautiful or not. Mr. K, she asked, could she use 18 seconds of his life to read her letters. If he believes that everyone needs a dream, then please give her a signed envelope, she only need one. She keeps being passive to be a normal person. She found herself useless, but she is not shy. She keeps it going and tries to get him to agree with her, and that is why every year, every month, every night and every morning she sent out a letter. She knows that they are apart by a universe, but she keeps putting in her love into the envelope. Looking up to the sky and she is still confident that he will eventually wrote a letter back to her. The song that I chose for today is “南瓜車” by Fiona Sit. The direct English translation of the title is “Pumpkin coach”, this is in reference to the story of Cinderella.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said, that day the pumpkin coach arrived at her doorstep and it was full of love. She feels that love is carrying her to the party. But when it gets to 12am, the sweetness was gone, she got kick away after their romance, now she realised that their ending have been changed. If there is no pumpkin coach to get her home, she will use her legs to get back. Being in the fairy tale land, her eyes seem to be covered with imagination, but lucky there was a real car to get her home. At least she have been a princess for a few minutes, ridded on a pumpkin coach and had spent a night with her lover. Although this can’t continue now, but there is no need to get angry. She was so hopeful for their fairy tale, so she should pay the price. Although she still can’t accept it, but as the end comes she needs to learn how to get along with it. There is no need to wait for the orange carriage and no need to fictionalised their relation. When he was trying to date her, there were always flower at her doorstep; she should have guessed that when they separated, there would only be snow. The love castle now becomes a waste land, she rather wishes that she could move on and never got attached to him. If there is no pumpkin coach to get her home, and the metro doesn’t run at night, she would rely on her feet. She cried, but she knows she will get used to it and she will see it through, that would be enough to find her ways and get a ride home. The song that I chose for today is “XBF” by Fiona Sit. The title is really the shorten form of “ex-boyfriend”. This song is quite old, it came out in 2004, so almost 10 years.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist told us that she never thought her ex-boyfriend was her first one, but she is most worry that he will become her next ex-boyfriend. But right now, she is officially with him. She wishes that he would be the list one on her breakup list as she doesn’t want to be breakup again. But really, it was because she broke up with her last boyfriend to give her the chance to meet him. Back then she thought she know how to love him. She wishes that the one she love the most would be her last one. Even at the end of their relationship, she never thought of giving up, but she was dumped but him, the person that becomes her ex-boyfriend. She got no excuse to stop him from leaving, she know from the beginning that if she got a chance to hold hands with him, one day they will breakup. But at the end, when she counts her ex-boyfriend, she feels that she would be happy even if he were just with her for a short time. She thinks that if meeting him was luck, then perhaps she had used up all her luck already. As she kissed him, she doesn’t know how to hate him; he is the one that loves her the most across all her ex-boyfriends. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “趕” by Fiona Sit. Personally I love the melody of the song. The direct English translation of the title is “Rush”.

The lyrics of the song are about love and life. The protagonist felt lost and she wanted to search for a new direction. Many people thought that she was tough, thought that she could overcome the difficulties, but she didn’t make it. She failed to fall in love with the guy that she likes. She feels tired now after all the effort that she put in, she wanted to rest. She wanted to catch up to him, but she realised in the process of this, both of them have forgotten love. So she now see no point of making their life painful. They peacefully separated and search for their true love. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “尋找獨角獸” by Fiona Sit. This song came out in 2007. The direct English translation of the title is “Searching for Unicorn”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist searching for her perfect match. But instead of telling the story normally, the writer uses a fantasy way to tell us this story. At the beginning, the song tells us that the bird on the tree is talking to the God of Wind, the huge monster is talking to the flower. All the monsters are running around trying to search for their perfect match, so the protagonist decided to join the search to find her white horse. When it was snowing, she dated with a fire dragon, but she can’t stand the fire dragon when it comes to summer. Everyone is searching for a home even the weirdest one, but it seems that she is the only one that is still single. Though she believes that there is a he waiting for her and she can create miracles. She knows that she will find the unicorn, but maybe the road to unicorn just takes a bit longer than others. She knows that she will have a happy ending, so she is not worry about the bumps on her life journey. At the end she walked through a waterfall and saw elves taking a walk, she knew that she is getting close to the place that she meets her perfect match. Even if the ending is bad, she can still imagine her own happy ending, as she is still young.

I quite like this song, as I feel that it describe the feeling of young very well. This way of thinking really only exist in teenager, it is only teenager (or young adult) who could still afford to spent time to chase after their dream without giving up due to reality. I guess this song reminded me of my youth. Hope you will enjoy the song.

They always spent time together, and she feel that she is even closer to him that his boyfriend. However, she doesn’t understand why they can’t be together, why his boyfriend always came first. The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist talk about that she had been hurt many times when she broke up with her previous boyfriends. But she told us that she will never give up on falling in love, because she know that one day she will found her true love and become the luck girl. She said that if she gave up on loving someone, then her dream will never came true. Although this song is about love, but I reckon that this theory also apply on many other things in life. If we give up without trying we will never have a chance of getting what we want, so in order to get what we hope for we need to have the courage to overcome the fear of failure. Today’s song is “給十年後的我” by Fiona Sit. Many things came up in my mind today and these things remind me of this song. The direct English translation of the title is “To myself 10 years in the future”.

This song is about questioning ourselves about life. In the lyrics, it is written like we are wondering about our future. It questions whether we regret on anything that we have done in the last ten years, whether we have become more mature, whether we have forgotten about our dream and working day to day just for money and whether we are happy. The last line said, don’t wait until ten years later to think whether you are happy or not, basically telling us that if we are not happy with our life now, we should do something about it to fix it. The lyrics really touch me today, I have been thinking a lot about life lately. I am at one of the lowest point in my life, very unhappy, to some extent I think I am depress as well, sometime I can’t sleep at night. I have been working very hard in the last few years to try to achieve a goal, but only in the last few months something told me that what I have done was completely wrong, and the effort that I put in is completely wasted. I feel that I could never reach my goal again, I am tired and no longer motivated. Today, I have heard story about someone that is in a similar shoes. To certain extent, he is in a worse situation. But he managed to find a way out for himself, maybe he hasn’t reach his goal, but at least he didn’t lose everything. Another person that I know of, who I never thought that he would reach his goal, have told me that he is now in the ending phase, so he will soon get what he wanted. This make me feel that sometime things are quite unfair, Me and the first friend have put in so much effort and sacrifice to try to achieve our goal, yet, we are not close to it, yet someone else who don’t put in as much effort is getting it. Then I have heard the song that I chose today, although it is not directly related, but it make me wonder what will happen to the 3 of us in ten years time. Will his success today mean he will be successful in the next 10 years? and what will this incident done to me and my other friend?
