The song for today is “回憶的沙漏” by G.E.M. Personally, I don’t like G.E.M. that much as I think she is like to show off. But I have to admit that she sing quite well. This song was from her first album. The direct English translation of the title is “Memory hourglass”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. It said puzzle is falling piece by piece, just like the coldness of maple leafs. The clock on the wall, slowly counting loneliness. The nice smell of the coffee floated away, and it left the bitterness with her. Her memories, buried her weakness in the dark night. Limitless firmament, a sky full of star signs. His light just shined once and passed away. She only wanted to remember that timeless moment, like the falling of a shooting star, brightness lost it expression. The song that I chose for today is “睡公主” by G.E.M. From memory, this was the first song that she sent to the media for promotion. The direct English translation of the title is “Sleepy beauty”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. It begins with the protagonist say that in her dream all she need is a kiss, but she know that in real life, she will never be able to hug him. She said she will fully enjoy her dreams even though it will only last for a very short time. But she feel the the world got flip over when she woke up. When she is in her dream, she is not worry being alone. She don’t mind to be like the sleepy beauty, where she sleeps for hundreds of years. If she can only hope for the best in her real life, she rather be sleeping for the rest of her life, then at least in her dream, they will always be together. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “A.I.N.Y. (愛你)” by G.E.M. This is one of G.E.M.’s representative songs. I personally think that this song is quite hard to sing, but G.E.M. handle it quite well. The direct English translation of the title is “A.I.N.Y. (Love You)”. The “A.I.N.Y.” is actually the shorten of the pronunciation of “Love You” in mandarin pronounced as “Ai Ni”.

The lyrics of the song are about getting dump. The protagonist said that ever since they broke up, she found that every night seems to be silent. She can hear the soft noise made by her clock. His tender voice used to come through her phone, but now all it left is emptiness and an emotionless reply. She said she once gave him her heart, but he didn’t treasure it. She begged him to love her back by telling him how much she love him, but it didn’t work. His arms were once a place that gives her comfort, but how she wonders who is leaning on his chest. Her last memory of him was that he was walking away from her and she breaks down and started crying. She cry every time she thing about this, but she still love him. She hate herself of being so stupid and can’t controlling her emotion. Hope you will like the song.

The song I pick for today is “Someday I’ll fly” by G.E.M. G.E.M. is a relative new singer, she started her music career around 4 years ago. G.E.M. is her stage name, it stands for “Get Everybody Moving.”

This song is quite simple. Although the lyrics is quite complex and quite long, but the central story is that the protagonist got hurt, she wanted to escape, she wanted to cry to release all the feeling inside her. In her daily life, she tried to cover up her feeling, but every day she is hoping that she will find her Mr. Right to save her from sadness. At the end she found him, and how she know she have hope in her life. Hope you will enjoy the song.
