The song for today is “等了又等” by Kit Chan. This was a song form Jacky’s stageperformance ("雪狼湖"). The direct English translation of the title is “Wait and waited”. Personally, I really like the song, Kit’s voice and expression in this song fully expressed the feeling of the protagonist.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist who really love a guy, she wishes that he would notice her and approach her to start a fantastic relationship. She said: “Wish that planting flowers could help me forget my sadness. Seasons had changed, but my heart still haven’t. Wish that you haven’t disappeared in my life, I wipe my tears and wait for you again. Time, seconds, so small that they are like dust. But for you, I still recorded the year, the month and the day. If we have once love, then it would have been exciting. This make my heart in pain as I wait and waited again. Loving you, thinking of you, dreaming that you will come and connect with me. The song for today is “寂寞便找我” by Kit Chan. The direct English translation of the title is “Find me when you are lonely”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist saying how much she love this guy, yet she feels that they shouldn’t be together. She said: “The fireworks that I wanted to watch with you, is all over the sky long ago. The cherry blossom that I wasn’t to watch with you, now is already dead. No wonder people said that seeing one more day will love one more day, not giving up; this is only enough to lie to yourself. Though of your voice, but forgot about you. The song for today is “每一生都等你” by Kit Chan. The direct English translation of the title is “Will wait for you every life”. I think this song was the theme song of a TV drama.

The lyrics of the song are about love. It said: “I once searched for you in the distance place. Finally today I can meet you. If dreaming is like forgetting, then is this beautiful or not. The song for today is “傷愛” by Kit chan. The direct English translation of the title is “Hurt love”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist trying to tell her ex-boyfriend to stay away from her as he is interrupting her new potential relationship. The song that I chose for today is “原來只要為你活一天” by Kit Chan. This was a song from Jacky’s musical “雪狼湖” (“Snow wolf lake”). This musical was very popular back in the 90’s, as very much all the songs from the musical were big hit. The direct English translation of the title is “So I only need to live for you for one day”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that she already knew that knowing him would be a defect. Perhaps it was fate that leads them together, but it couldn’t be. She wanted to love even though that might mean she will sacrifice herself. So she only needed to live with him for one day, and she will forget everything else in the world. So everything in the world would change, but waiting for him for half of her life and he wouldn’t change. She wishes that she could live with him for a day and discovered everything about him. She wishes that he will see it one day, that the she who give him real love will not regret, for every day. Hope you will like the song.

20th Feb 2013 (揭曉 – Kit Chan)

The song that I chose for today is “揭曉” by Kit Chan. Kit is a singer from Singapore. She was quite famous, at one point was stared in Jacky Cheung’s musical “雪狼湖” and got very famous in Hong Kong. From memory, it was at that time she started to get into the Hong Kong market and produced a number of Cantonese songs. This song “揭曉” was one of those that were produced at that time. The direct English translation of the title is “Announced”.

The lyrics of the song are quite unusual. At the beginning of the song, the protagonist’s friends were surrounding her and congratulating her. They were all surprise that she announced that she will be getting married. They were all happy for her, saying that they will help her to choose her wedding dress. All her friends were so excited, saying how lucky she is to be with him. They all go to search for a good day for her to get married, as getting married on a good day means good fortune. At the same time, she can’t take it anymore, mentally breakup and start crying. She announced that her boyfriend had left her, to cover up her pain, she laugh at herself, saying that she could finally be free from his control. Now everyone is silence. Love is gone, but it left behind a joke for her. Her friends tried to comfort her and try to find out why he left her. She wonders who’s the lady in her wedding dress that makes him so determined to breakup with her. She is now living in pain and completely collapsed. 9th Jan 2012 (擔心 – Kit Chan)

The song that I chose for today is “擔心” by Kit Chan. I personally quite like Kit’s song. This is actually the first time I listen to this song. The English translation of the title is “Worry”. I chose this song because I got something important on the coming Friday and I am worry about it, then I came across this song on YouTube. I never heard this song before, but it catches my ear, so I thought I should try to introduce it to more people through my blog.

The lyrics of the song is about the protagonist broke up with her boyfriend. She feels that they are being pull away from each other by their living environment. She said that she is worry that her ex-boyfriend will worry about her, and she is worry that he will feel lonely in the cold night. She know that her ex-boyfriend wouldn’t be worrying about her, but still she is willing to worry about him day and night.

Today’s song is “越吻越傷心” William So. William was once quite popular in the 90’s, but as he didn’t managed to get a ground breaking song in the 00’s in Hong Kong, he move his market to Taiwan and Mainland China. Until recently he started his singing career in Hong Kong again, and it is quite successful at the moment. The song that I chose for today is one of his most popular song back in the 90’s. The English translation of the title is “Kisses more, hurt more”

This song is about a couple is together but their hearts are apart. Through the lyrics, the protagonist asked his girlfriend many questions about their daily life, but his girlfriend just ignored him. At the end he said that he knows that they don’t have feeling for each other anymore, then why border asking so many questions to show that they are far apart. I hope you will enjoy this song.
