song for today is “假使有日能忘記” by William So. The direct English translation of
the title is “Even if 1 day I can forget”. This song was a theme song for an old TVB drama.
The
lyrics of the song are about love. It said: “Why can’t I forget so many sad

for today is “燈火欄柵處” William So. This is a reader request. The
title is a bit hard to translate as it is an old Chinese phase that what it means
directly is different to it actual meaning. Directly, the title translated as “Low
light place”. But what it actually means is that it is a place close by that we
have been neglecting all the time. It is part of a poem “眾裡尋他千百度，驀然回首，那人正在燈火闌珊處。”
meaning “Searching for him everywhere, turned back, and that person is in that
place close by”.

The melody sounds familiar to me, so I think it was once a rather popular song, yet I couldn't recall any of it lyrics :p This song is the Cantonese cover version of a Japanese song "最後の雨" by Yasushi Nakanishi 中西保志. The direct english translation of the title is "Let me be a bit warmer".

song for today is “做場好戲” by William So, Charles Ying (應昌佑),
Kate Yeung (楊淇), Jason Chan, Lesley Chiang (姜麗文) and
Benji Chiang (姜文杰). This song is a reader request, it is a theme song of
a HKTV drama “童話戀曲 201314”. Apart from William and Jason, I guess the
rest are not too well known. Charles was a singer under Leon Lai’s music label “A-Music”,
during that time he had a number of songs produced, that most famous one that I
could recall was “24” which featured Janice Vidal. He wasn’t able to make his
name well know, as sort of disappeared over the years. Kate, if I remember
correctly was a stage actor and she also stared in a few movies during the mid
00’s. Benji and Lesley are brother and
sister, they are the kids of Paul Chiang (秦沛, a famous Chinese actor. 秦沛
is his stage name). Benji worked in TVB for quite some time, and I think a couple
of years ago, he formed a singing group “Benji and Lesley” with his sister, and
they produced their own album. Lesley on the other hand had once worked at the
Japanese TV station NHK for some kid show. However the group seems to have disappeared

in this song, I will represent their line by the first letter of their name,

song that I chose for today is “絕情” by William So. I have completely forgotten
this song, but I happened to heard it on the radio yesterday. It was a popular
song back in 1995. The direct English translation of the title is “unfeeling”.
The
lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that he never verified with
God, so he never knows how long his love will last. But that moment just hit
him, the feeling of a lover; sadness was unavoidable from the start. She never
answered his questions and reject to answer any more questions. He wanted to
speak up, but he got no ways of doing so. He is now lonely, but perhaps the
cold wind could give him a clear mind. He keeps calculating, but at the end his
relationship still ends. He should be with her all his life. He tried to keep
going with her and resist when she wanted to dump him, she said she hate to see

song that I chose for today is “獨立宣言” by William So. William had been
singing for many years. Not sure whether he is unlucky or just that his songs
never catch the heart of the majority, he was never really shining bright. He
is well recognised for his singing skill, but it seems hard for him to hold his
fame for a long time. Two years ago, he had a very popular song “那誰”.
Everything was going well for him, but since then I haven’t really heard about
him apart from the Big4 concert (William is part of Big4). If he produced songs
more frequently, I guess he would have been very popular by now. Back to the
song, the direct English translation of the title is “Independent speech”.
The
lyrics of the song are about love. At the beginning of the song, the protagonist
said that he is used to hugging with his girlfriend and seems to get used to being
loved by her. Although he said that he should felt happy about this as he could
be lucky to find someone that he love, he started to worry that her love will
block him from the road of success in his job. He felt that her love had made
him to forget about chasing after his dreams. So he tried to take one step from

song that I chose for today is “那誰” by William So. This song was a big
hit in 2001.The direct English translation of the title is “Who is that”.
The
lyrics of the song are about our feeling toward our ex-girlfriend/ex-boyfriend.
At the start it said that at the day when we broke up with our ex, our tears
created a line of rust on our face and it just got stuck there, we can’t wipe
it off. As we are still living, we must move on, so we must accept the wound,
but try not to touch it too often. Times
goes by, but do we still hate our ex? If we don’t think about the wound,
perhaps the wound would healed already. Sometime we might be glad that there
are still tears coming from our eyes, as it is a proof that this relation means
a lot to us. Perhaps one day we might forgot the name of our ex, but we might
still remember what we done together. So perhaps we just take this as part of
our life journey, think about it as God wanted to complete our perfect life by

song is “越吻越傷心” William So. William was once quite popular in the 90’s,
but as he didn’t managed to get a ground breaking song in the 00’s in Hong
Kong, he move his market to Taiwan and Mainland China. Until recently he
started his singing career in Hong Kong again, and it is quite successful at
the moment. The song that I chose for today is one of his most popular song
back in the 90’s. The English translation of the title is “Kisses more, hurt
more”
This
song is about a couple is together but their hearts are apart. Through the
lyrics, the protagonist asked his girlfriend many questions about their daily
life, but his girlfriend just ignored him. At the end he said that he knows
that they don’t have feeling for each other anymore, then why border asking so
many questions to show that they are far apart. I hope you will enjoy this
song.
