The song for today is “歡樂滿人間” by Roman Tam. Recently I have discovered this blog http://blog.roodo.com/muzikland, the author of the blog, Muzikland, apparently also run a music show on an online radio station in Hong Kong. The name of the show is called “Muzikland的音樂天地” and it is on every Wednesday where he play and talk through around 15 old Chinese songs (here is a link to the page of his radio show: http://www.onairpower.com/download_program_list.php?smallclass_id=75) . I guess most of the reader here will be interested in his show, so I suggest you to visit the site and listen to some of the show, they are all free to listen I think. Anyway back to the song, I discovered this song in one of the show, the direct English translation of the title is “Happiness filled the mortal world”.

The lyrics of the song are about happiness. The protagonist said: “The grass woke up at the start of spring, laughing with you. The song for today is “前程錦繡” by Roman Tam. A fellow reader requested to translate the song “前程錦繡” without stating the singer. Over the years, there are a few different songs that uses this name so I am not too sure which was referred. So I decided to do the Roman’s version first as it is one of Roman’s classic and it is probably the first song that uses this name. Perhaps tomorrow, I will do Andy Hui’s version as that song was also quite popular back when it was released (and I quite like story told by the lyrics). The English translation of the title is “Brighter future”.

The lyrics of the song are about hope. It said, at dawn, our spirit got stronger; at dusk, we don’t need to worry, because we know that tomorrow there would be new hope. We help and encourage each other, no matter how far we are apart. The road to the future is full of wishes, and through it we will be as strong as steel. Tears drop and we will wipe it dry. We dare to challenge the high mountain, overcome it and gaze at the distance place. A bit of pain or bitterness will further encourage us, it is like a tiny wave in a bitterness sea. The song that I chose for today is “壞情人” by Roman Tam. This is one of Roman’s iconic songs. The direct English translation of the title is “Bad lover”.

The lyrics of the song are about what the protagonist look for in a relationship. It said, her attractiveness is trying to get into his dream. Her smile is getting everyone crazy. She is the most exciting lover, the craftiest. She is in control of their relationship, she is free to make fun of it. If he takes the burden of her love, then he wouldn’t be able to turn. But sadly her love could disappear any time. Behind her eye sight, it is those. There is no need to understand, no need to move. All he wanted is a bad lover, there is no need to be in love most of his life. Stop waiting, just kiss; there is no need to be serious within his arm. Who said that you need to be a good person? The song for today is “家變” by Roman Tam. This was the theme song of a famous TVB drama (which shares the same name as the song). The direct English translation of the title is “Family change”.

The lyrics of the song are about changes and how we should face it. It asks whether we know that things always changes, as the nature of changes are eternal. In the ups and downs of ripples, there would be happiness and sadness. Please don’t complain about things changes as the nature of changes is eternal. The song that I chose for today is “波斯貓” by Roman Tam. This is one of Roman’s classic. I am not sure why this song keeps popping up in my head today, so I decided to talk about it here. The direct English translation of the title is “Persian cat”. This song is the Chinese cover of the Japanese song “憧れの SUMMER HOUSE” by 中村雅俊.

Although it doesn’t especially said in the lyrics, but I think to a certain degree the ‘cat’ in this song is referring to a sexy girl that the protagonist know. The song begins with the protagonist said that the cat voice is sweet and deep. At night, he is no longer lonely. The cat shakes its waist and jumped slightly. Its eyes are so shinily that it reflects like a crystal. So sexy, so shinily. Its light body is so white, and looking at it makes him feel hot. Without wearing cloth, it body is so small. Its two eyes are like stars and very attractive. He wanted to take cares of it for his whole life. When he saw the cat, he will forget all his pain from works. In bed, it gives him warm. Persian cat, sexy body, it accompany him and he no longer feel lonely. The Persian cat that he is holding sounds sexy. It is swinging it tail, twisting it waist and making noises. The song that I chose for today is “親情” by Roman Tam. This is one of the iconic songs from Roman. It was a theme song for a TV drama so it was very popular back at the time when it came out. The meaning of the title is “Family love”.

The lyrics of the songs are about the love and relationship within a family. The lyrics start with a question; it asked how many types of love in the world are full of beauty and peace. This love is deep and it will never change. This relationship gives him strength and makes him believe that there is love in family. Day and night this love give him the warm feeling and he feels that love is everywhere; it felt like the wind in Spring, making him feel being cared. It is lucky that the world have this type of love, showing the peacefulness in humanity; this love give him warmness during his weakest time. Hope you will like the song.

The lyrics of the song are very simile, it is basically about expressing his life that is full of music. At the start, Roman say that in his live, he loves to sing, he wanted his voice to spread around the world. In his life there are full of problems, but these problems helped him to come up with many dreams and found the direction in his life. Following the melody he spread his music around the world. The song that I chose for today is “幾許風雨” by Roman Tam. This is one of my favourite by Roman. The direct English translation of the title is “Many storms”.

The lyrics are about the protagonist telling himself that he had went through many difficult and still standing today. It is really a song for younger people who haven’t gone through the ups and downs in their life. The protagonist in the song said that he had seen how people suck up to him when he was successful, and how people distance him when he became the loser. What we should learn is to fight in the most difficult time, to keep walking to our destination even in storm. Hope you will enjoy the song.
