The song that I chose for today is “一人有一個夢想” by Vivian Lai. This is one of Vivian’s most popular songs. The direct English translation of the title is “Every have a dream”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that if she was told some form of love will end up hurting her, thought she thinks that if she got some happiness from them, then why not give it a try. If she was told that there are some of her qualities that her boyfriend wouldn’t like, then she will believe that not everyone will think like her boyfriend does. She doesn’t know where it comes from, but she can smell some flower and this smell give her some imagination of the future. One person will have one dream. If two people fallen in love then they will slowly get lost in love. With three people, each of them will have their own kinds of love and will search for their own dream. If one person change heart, then it will hurt. But if two people agree then it doesn’t matter. For three people, the love will get bitter and you should stop asking for the truth. The protagonist wonders why every time when she start falling in love, he got nervous. Who is the person that got his heart pumping? Why every time when she got dump, he got relaxed. He shows his emotions on his face. She doesn’t know where it comes from, but she can smell some flower and this smell give her some imagination of the future. One person will have one dream. The song that I chose for today is “認真” by Vivian Lai. This is a song from 1997 and it is one of Vivian’s classic. The direct English translation of the title is “Serious”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist told us that at the beginning, she was attracted to this guy because it was him and the environment feels right. Back then, he tried all he can to get close to her, because of that she make up her mind very easily. When they were close, they loved each other so much. But now, when they break up, it seems that this moment is most memorable. She was serious and cared about this relationship, but he loves someone else more than her. She felt that as if their contract is ended and so he doesn’t need to fulfil his promises anymore. She had been serious and sacrificed for the relationship, but now he causes her to feel down. She knows that she shouldn’t think of him, but she can’t, so the only thing that she could do is to cry. This time she is very unhappy because she is the protagonist and because she feel down. Love, always get people to be excited at the beginning. She wishes that they could spend their life together. Hope you will like the song.

20th Apr 2013 (雨季不再來 – Vivian Lai)

The song that I chose for today is “雨季不再來” by Vivian Lai. I am not really a Vivian’s fans, but I quite like her songs. A few years ago, I search on internet for Priscilla Chan’s songs (and eventually now trying to buy back all her albums, still got a few missing….) In the process of that I heard some songs sung by Vivian Lai. Vivian’s voice actually sounds so much like Priscilla back in the 90’s (these days Priscilla’s voice is a lot deeper). However, Vivian had retired since she was married, so she hardly sings these days (at least not publicly). The direct English translation of the title is “Rain season will never come again”.

The lyrics of this song are about love. It tells us that the protagonist was standing next an open window. It was raining outside and so the rain was coming through the open window. When the rain got onto her, she felt it as if it was her ex-boyfriend giving her a hug. When it hit her face, she felt that the rain was trying to kiss her for him. Although he has left her for another person, she still loves him so deeply. This place that they used to hang out has got nothing left apart from disappointment. The rain had got her all wet, she wonder it is her being stupid to wet herself, or is it that he was trying to get inside her body through the rain. Hope you will enjoy the song.

The song that I chose for today is “自卑” by Vivian Lai. This song came out in the late 90’s, it was quite popular back then. The direct English translation of the title is “Self-abased”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist is self-abased. She was afraid to show her feeling toward the guy that she loves. She is worries that she is not good enough for him, so she think that she will be rejected. So she decided to keep her feeling to herself, as that way she would be hurt and she can at least stain retain a bit of hope and joy of loving someone. Hope you will like the song.

Today’s song is “自動消失lonely days” by Vivian Lai. Vivian was quite popular back in the 90’s, because Priscilla Chan went on further study and her voice is very similar to Priscilla, so the music company think that she got potential to become Priscilla second. She retired from her music career in 2002 and later on got married with a rich guy in Hong Kong. The English translation of the title is “Automatically disappeared lonely days”.

The lyrics of the song are about a girl is breaking up with her boyfriend, but in a way that she don’t want to have this relationship to drag on. Throughout the lyrics, it mentioned that the guy don’t want to breakup, but the protagonist feel that they are over and wanted the breakup. Hope you will enjoy this song.
