The song for today is “兩男一女” by Daniel Chan, Alex Fong and Rain Lee. This song is a reader request. This song was the theme song for drama version of Feel 100% (百分百感覺). “Feel 100%” was originally a Hong Kong comic, through the years it had been transformed into many different forms, such as movies, dramas and radio drama. The direct English translation of the title is “Two male one female”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. As there are three singer, I will label Alex’s line by “A:”, Daniel’s by “D:”, Rain’s by “R:” and when they sing together “T:”. A: Many love, but what is love. Once you got it, you look forward to not have it. Caught with your love, but at the same time can be loved. I am not greedy, even novel recorded it that way. D: Many love, who is willing to transfer them to me. Everyone during love, is like they are challenging each other. At the end, there are no money reward, no price reward. 12th Oct 2014 (打開天空 – Daniel Chan, Kelly Chan, Ray Chan and Joyce Yau)

The song that I chose for today is “打開天空” by Daniel Chan, Kelly Chan, Ray Chan and Joyce Yau. This song was from the 90’s, it was back at the time when it was ok for cigarette companies to advertise in Hong Kong. I remembered, each year, Marlboro (a cigarette brand) would host some advertising campaign which involve music. Those that sing the song for that year are either stars that were popular already or up and coming. For this song, we had Daniel and Kelly. Not much need to be said for Kelly as she is still quite popular these days. Daniel was very popular back then but he went down quite quickly (from memory it was due to some negative news with his manager). Ray and Joyce on the other hand, seem to disappear completely after this song. Back to the song, the direct English translation of the title is “Open the sky”.

The lyrics of the song are about being active and energetic (I guess mainly because the cigarette wanted a positive image to be related to their product). Daniel’s lines will be indicated by “D:”, Kelly’s by “K:”, Ray’s by “R:”, Joyce’s by “J:” and when they sing together “T:”. Note that a large section of the lyrics got repeated many times throughout the song, so I will not be repeating translating it in the following, I will only show it once when it first appeared. T: Sing, sing and sing to make it stand up. J: every cells are climbing to the top. T: Dance, dance and dance to make it stand up. D: Speak using rhythm. T: A flying Pegasus, it is not a problem to show your true feeling. R: Unlimited noise are filled in our blood stream. It is destiny that we couldn’t hide this anymore. The song for today is “另一半” by Daniel Chan. From memory this song was popular back in 90’s. The direct English translation of the title is “Other half”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that his girlfriend is the only person that made him realised that hugging for half a second could proof love exist. And she is not worry about test, the fireworks that lasted for half a day, he thinks of that at night. Forget about the world, there is only these board shoulder left, and they could still hug her by treating good bye as a test. Can be divided, but why can’t she wait, how much time is left? He could still get half the pillow, even if he has to wait for half of his life. Why can’t he hold onto her? The sky that existed for the other half, is enough to kiss for the rest of his life. Searched through the other side of the world; only think of her for half of his life is call missed. Who would want to see the prettiest face? Kissing her half cigarette, he could still understand lingering. These are enough for him to think of for the rest of his life. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “借借你肩膀” by Daniel Chan. The direct English translation of the title is “Borrow your shoulder”.

The lyrics of the song are about finding someone for support. The protagonist said he had walked a thousand miles after a thousand miles and he can’t feel any worry. Blinking his eyes, blinking his eyes, he still hasn’t cried. He sees himself a few times working so hard. Walked across a few mountains alone; fixed many things by his hands without help. He listened to his foot step and thought about he managed it all, without knowing whether she is standing behind him. No matter how strong you are, you need a shoulder. At least in the dark you could find some support. Borrowing your shoulder could help him feel less lonely. Even if he will get lonely, at least he knows he got somewhere to return to. If he got lost one day, she could accompany him to get lost. He wanted to fall into someone when he feels tired and weak. If he is careless, he wanted someone to be with him. The song that I chose for today is “急凍心靈” by Daniel Chan. This is one of his most iconic songs. The direct English translation of the title is “Frozen heart”.

The lyrics of the song area bout love. It start off say that if we have already all that we can say and other doesn’t seems to agree; if we seems to lose the feeling of love or if we need to change our life style every day, then we are only left with one solution. Let’s freeze our body and heart, and chase our dreams in this technology. We will freeze our greed as well and see how it changes in our next life. When our hearts have lost all the emotions, we can chase the miracle in haven. Freeze, when our hearts lost all the emotions, we would lose all the connection we have with anyone and anything. When we feel tired and we still wishes for more, but time is running out. So let’s freeze our body and heart, and chase our dreams in this technology. The song that I chose for today is “心的接觸” by Daniel Chan. Daniel was once very popular. I can’t remember exactly what happened, but from memory there was some bad news about him that heavily impacted his image, causing him to move away from the Hong Kong market. This song is one of my favourites from Daniel and the direct English translation of the title is “Contact of hearts”.

The lyrics of the song are about how the protagonist feel love have changed his life. He said that maybe he was born this this way, he never really think about his future. His life was dull and lonely. But perhaps it was fate that he meets her. She changes his life from black and white to full of colour. He said that the contact between their hearts had changed his life; he can feel that their life will end in happiness. Perhaps she is the only audience in his life. He feels that all his dream are becoming reality. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “心理遊戲” by Daniel Chan. This song was popular back in the 90’s and Daniel was doing very well in his music career back then. The direct English translation of the title is “Mental game”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist is guess the true feeling of his girlfriend. In the lyrics, it seems that the girl don’t usually show her feeling to the guy. The guy just have to guess. He handed her a movie ticker once, but she never reply, so he don’t know whether to wait or not. He also can’t tell whether she is happy or sad. He is sick of this ‘mental’ game that the girl is play, but he have to keep playing because he is so attracted by this girl. Hope you like the song.
