The song that I chose for today is “好時辰” by Gigi Leung. I mentioned this song the other day when I talked about Ivana’s “好時辰”, but didn’t realised that I haven’t talked about this song on this blog :p So here it is. As it got the same title as Ivana’s song, the title in English is the same, “Good time”.

The lyrics of the song are also about love. The protagonist said: “The silver tree and golden light are still beautiful. Still celebrating through to the morning. Waiting for the best moment, love to talk to me close to my ear. Forgive that you couldn’t remember the good news, and I still like the fact that you don’t lie. The song for today is “25” by Gigi Leung. If I remembered correctly, this song was released in the early 2000, I remembered I really like Gigi’s songs, and I pretty much bought every album that was released. Back then, there were no mp3 or YouTube, so every album that I bought I loop them many times and listen to all songs on it just so that it would worth my money :p

The lyrics of the song are about youth and love. It said: “Cried and blow out the tears, I have arrived to this day. It is not easy to arrive to this world. The song for today is “短髮” by Gigi Leung. This song is a reader request. This song was released in 1997, if I remembered correctly, it was one of the first few Gigi’s Mandarin song that got popular. The direct English translation of the title is “Short hair”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist saw that there is other girl’s hair on her boyfriend clothes but she play dumb, trying to ignore it to try to keep the relationship going. The song for today is “限期” by Gigi Leung. This is a reader request. The direct English translation of the title is “Deadline”.

The lyrics of the song are how the protagonist felt about the relationship between herself and her boyfriend had changed. She said: “Since when did I want to let you go, but lack the courage. The song for today is “迴旋木馬的終端” by Gigi Leung. This song is a reader request. It was the theme song for the movie “Turn Left, turn right” (向左走向右走), which was based on a picture book by a Taiwanese artist Jimmy Liao (幾米). The direct English translation of the title is “The ending of marry-go-round”.

The song for today is “我鍾意” by Gigi Leung. This is one of Gigi’s earlier songs, and it is one of those that defined her music career. The direct English translation of the title is “I like it”.

The lyrics of the song are about enjoying yourself. The protagonist said that at the morning she likes to take a bubble bath and she also like to take a map with her during summer (i.e. traveling). The song I choose for today is “他喜歡的是你” by Gigi Leung. This is a song from 2001, back then I quite like Gigi’s song and I bought quite a lot of her albums. The English translation of the title is “The person that he likes is you”.

The lyrics of the song are about love, the protagonist is not happy about that no matter what she do, it seems that she just can’t win over his heart. She said: “why even when I tried to be perfect, I still got dump, even when I had putted in a lot of effort. The song for today is “出走地平線” by Gigi Leung. I remember I used to loop this song many times a day as I like how energetic it feels. The direct English translation of the title is “escaping equator”.

The song that I chose for today is “家有小熊” by Gigi Leung. I remember I used to listen to this song a lot, repeated it so many times to a point that my sister get annoyed when she hear the intro of the song. The direct English translation of the title is “A little bear at home”.

The lyrics of the song are about a teddy bear that the protagonist made and how it accompanies her throughout her life. The protagonist said that the teddy bear always stay at her home, a small home. The teddy bear is like it doesn’t speak, it accompanies every day to school, and they talk about all the secretes. In the past, a girl with glasses uses a needle, carefully crafted it. Every time when she feels sad and cried, it was there to share her pain. She loves to analyse him with teddy every night. She said that she might have been lucky, and it might get a bit angry as it worry that it might not be able to share the bed with her. The song that I chose for today is “狠心愛我” by Gigi Leung. This was a song from 2004. The direct English translation of the title is “Love me ruthlessly”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that people are always not happy with her performance and she realised that it is because she is naïve. She understands his motive, that he has to treat her like a kid. He make her feel the coolness of the world, let the snow cut her lips to remember the pain and he only watched on the side. She thanks him, as he ruthlessly pushes her down so that she can learn how to fall and how to walk. The song for today is “某年仲夏” by Gigi Leung. This song was quite popular back in 1996. The direct English translation of the title is “Some year summer”.

This song is about friendship. The lyrics said that the protagonist is thinking about a past summer, the sun and the sand were surrounding her. She was with her friends during this summer holiday and they were so happy. They put down all their work, and cheat about anything. No matter they go, they go together. The song for today is “分手禮” by Gigi Leung. The direct English translation of the title is “Break up ceremony”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist wanting to break up with her boyfriend and thinking about what to buy for him as a final gift. She said it was like cannot select the stop to get off from a bus. They feel that they are not used to being hug, and so it must indicate that it is time to break up.
