The song for today is “Katrina” by Eason. This song is the Cantonese cover version of David Tao’s “Katrina”. Note that David was the one who wrote the melody. The two songs only share the same melody, they got different arrangement and different lyrics. David Tao version is an English song.

The direct English translation of the title is “Love is simple”. What I like about this song is that it got a rather simple melody and the piano solo at the beginning.

The lyrics of the song are about protagonist realising how simple love could be, and there is no specific reason that you need to fall in love with someone. The song for today is “普通朋友” by David Tao (陶喆). David is a very famous Taiwanese singer and this song is one of his famous song. The direct English translation of the title is “Average Friend”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist saying that he doesn’t just want to be her average friend. It said, waiting, he is always waiting, to become the person responsible for her feelings. He has no doubt that this is love. He guessed, she wanted to clear this up a long time age. He felt that he is a loser, falling from haven to the lowest of the lowest, very helpless.
