24th Feb 2016 (那一夜有沒有說 / 那一夜有沒有雪? - Eason Chan)

The song for today is “那一夜有沒有說” / “那一夜有沒有雪?” by Eason Chan. This song is a reader request. The melody of this song was written by Eason himself. This song is weird, as it got two names (though note that both name have the same pronunciation in Cantonese). When this song was first released in 2000, it was called “那一夜有沒有雪?” (in English it means “That night didn’t snow?”). But in 2010, during Eason’s DUO concert, this song was called “那一夜有沒有說” (in English it means “That night didn’t say”) as printed on the concert album. As the lyrics actually plays with the two words “” and “”, it is unclear which is the official title of the song now.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist thinking back on the important day. It said: “Snow, it chasing the moon. The road said quietly, and there was snow storm. Cold, November, travellers got home sick. This moment the air is cold, just like how cruel it was that day. Human, was about to depart, really wanted to say it, watch the snow together. I, stupid, always so careless and forgetful. When we hug, I said it right? It was so dramatic, just like when snow first start to fall. But was there really snow? But did I actually say it? If didn’t say, then I will regret for life. There was snow right? Let the memories flow deeper. I said it right? It will give a good ending to my worry. Said in detail, the unfinished wish was buried that day. The emptiness in the heart is covered by the snowy white. The road in front is endless, before the snow start, I must stop my tears.” Hope you will like the song.
