The song for today is “圓” by AGA. I quite like Aga, I think she got a good voice and very talented. However, I think she need to have a wider variety of songs. It seems that many of her songs sound alike. Despite I like them all, but sometime I found it hard to distinguish between some of them. Anyway, back to this song. The direct English translation of the title is “Circle”. This word in Chinese also means complete or whole.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The lyrics heavily played with words, “圓”, “完”, “緣”, “願” and “園” all pronounce the same (well, “願” pronounce slightly differently, but close enough), but all have different meaning (“circle”, “end”, “fate”, “wish” and “park”). The protagonist said: “’Circle’ is complete; ‘circle’ is that face that make people feel sweet. ‘Circle’ is the ring that we created when we turn during dancing; turn and turn and created love. ‘End’ is ‘lacking’, ‘end’ is that sentence that painful goodbye. Most worry that the person that I love the most would be seen again, can only mourn happiness. Who is waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting for the full moon. Who is worry, worry, worry, worry that happiness will be used up. Know that there is lover forever? Ending is the new beginning. The wish of gathering. Leaving one, opening one, a new one. The song for today is “月球下的人” by Gin Lee. This is Gin’s latest song, I really like it. It is one of the few songs that I have been looping a lot recently. The direct English translation of the title is “The person under the moon”. The title of the song is very similar to Eason’s “月球上的人” (only differ by 1 word really). The lyrics of both songs are written by the same person, but they are not really a pair. While both talk about a similar theme, the stories are not related.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist thinking of the person that she loves, even though they are now apart. She said: “Wishing to fly to the quite moon to gaze at the windows of every family, and find out who is beside their love one enjoying the smell of rose on their balcony. The decoration is beautiful, a warm environment, fulfilling each and every pair. Who is now accompanying you to gaze at the moon and to forget about the sadness in the world? Full moon is only deserved to be hang on a gathering night. Biasedly shining on the happy couples, like I am alone living in a faraway universe, only deserved to be singing alone. Shouldn’t remembered, but why remembered? We never own each other anything, so why jealous? The song for today is “穿花蝴蝶” by Janice Vidal. This is Janice latest song, her first song since she changed company. I am glad to see that she is becoming more active again. The direct English translation of the title is “Butterfly that wear flowers”.

The lyrics, I believe, are about letting go of your old self and becoming something even better and brighter. The song for today is “Believe in Live” by Charmaine Fong. This is Charmaine’s latest song. Personally I quite like Charmain’s songs, she had been a bit quite for the last few years but had make a comeback since last year. Some of her songs are quite different to other Canton-pop, such as the song for today.

This song is the theme song for her concert. As such, the melody tried to get you moving and the lyrics somewhat like describing a party. The song for today is “下一站天后” by Twins. This is a reader request. Personally I quite like this song, this is one of the few Twins songs that I actually from time to time. This song was the theme song for a movie, in which a girl dreamed to be a singer, but was rejected due to her looks. The phase “天后” have two meaning, one is “Tin Hau”, a place in Hong Kong, the other means “Sky queen” (a goddess in Chinese legend). While the lyrics plays with the idea of both meaning, I would guess that in this context, it would take the later meaning, as it is also a phase that used to describe a very popular singer (i.e. singing queen). So as such, the direct English translation of the title is “Next station Queen”. You may also like to listen to “司機” by Shawn Yu, which was also from the same movie.

The lyrics of the song are being a singing star. The protagonist said: “Standing at the front of Daimaru (a department store from Japan. There is a branch in Hong Kong, and it was a famous landmark), carefully looking through my road. The next station, to be queen, that would be great. But during the glamorous road of being a star, if I suddenly scare of height, would he still hug me from my back? The couple at Paterson street (a street in Hong Kong), they show their pride on their face. Allowing me to sing freely on the stage, it may not be the best as the fame would be like bobble (i.e. it will easily disappear). The song for today is “四不像” by Vincy Chan. This is Vincy’s latest song. The title “四不像” literately means “Doesn’t looks like any of the four”, it is either used to describe an ancient mascot/animal that have different parts resemblant different animal, or used as a word to describe something that doesn’t resemblant anything.

The lyrics of the song are about love. On the description of the official YouTube video, it explained that the protagonist tried to get the person that she loves to love her back, even though she knows it will not happen. And so to try to do that, she gave up her personality, her feeling, making herself become a 四不像. She said: “Thanks you for saying that I am a kind person and looks like I like to listen to other people. When I am the best accompanying thing, it really doesn’t matter what I look like. Able to be together, there wouldn’t be without a reason. The best of these pair is that they look like a pair of kind people that just meet. But just to match with you. The song that I pick for today is “多少年” by JW. This is JW latest song. Personally I quite like JW voice, I think all she lacks now is a very popular song that bring her to the next stage. The direct English translation of the title “Very young adult”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The Protagonist talks about how much more life experience she need until she will learn to treasure love. I have been a bit busy lately, so I haven’t been able to update this blog at my usual schedule. This will probably go on for the next two weeks as well :( Anyway, back to usual business. The song for today is “你懂我” by Linda Chung. This song is a reader request. The direct English translation of the title is “You understand me”.

The lyrics of the song is about life. The protagonist said: “Every day I wish to become a great person. Tried to make myself brighter, every day I told myself how I should act. Slowly I become cold, like a frozen river. Whoever tried to get closer, I will kick them away. So I hide my heart away. A lot of rushing and chasing, but I never felt that I lived.
