song for today is “如一” by Ivana Wong. This is a reader request. Like many of
Ivana’s songs, this song also has that fantasy feels. The direct English translation
of the title is “If one”.
The
lyrics are quite abstract, I think the song question us about happiness. It
said: “When the whale is at sleep it got a good smell. The smell is so nice
that it lives with you. At the same

song for today is “小俠” by Ivana Wong. I heard this song
today and I quite like it, so I thought I will talk about it here. The English
translation of the title is “Little hero”.
The
lyrics are very meaningful. In the description of the YouTube video, it says: “In
every one heart there lives a kind, courage, curious kid. But as we grew up, we
faced difficult and got lost, and we locked the kid up, then we got used to
living in fear and lost. But the kid is our true face, if we can open our heart
and accept his existence, listen to his needs, protect and take care of him, he
could turn the darkness into light, giving us strength and making us stronger.”
The lyrics of the song are based on this idea. It said: “Under the moon, you

The
song for today is “好時辰” by Ivana Wong. The direct English
of the title is “Good time”. Although this song got the same title as Gigi’s “好時辰”,
but they are two completely songs.
The lyrics
of the song are about love. As stated at the beginning of the music video, it
is to summarise three years of relationship into 5 minutes. The protagonist
said: “From yesterday, how many people have changed from new lover to ex-lover?
Haven’t got the chance to know you, all I know was to waste time. How many
sections, how many times I took the extra-long route. They all felt like signs

song for today is “滿天星” by Ivana Wong. I recently go back
and listen some old radio drama that were based on one of Ivana’s album “詩情.畫意”
I didn’t used to like this album so much as I found that many of the songs were
a bit weird. But now listening to it again, I really like the album. Majority
of the songs paint a good picture in your head. The direct English translation
of the title is “Gypsophila paniculata” (a plant name) or “Full sky of stars”
(as the name of that type of flower in Chinese means full sky of stars).
The
lyrics of the song are about love. It said, in a romatic night, you would
remember the love spark left behind by poet. Gazing isn’t that bad as beauty
hurt. Love flow in the perfect heart. Praying non-stop for love, and you would realise
that God hears it and will give it to you. Finally got love, and you appreciated
that you got close to it. Can got this love this life, if you were once hurt
you would wake up. Loving in close distance is much better than sweet words, so
please don’t make me wake up. Knowing that it will not last to the end, but
still willing to feel it and try to own it. The stars on the sky will observed
this, a pair that still love each other even in adverse situation. How much

released in 2006. The direct English translation of the title is “Happiness” (this
Chinese phase, “幸福”, is actually hard to translate as it doesn’t have a
direct meaning in English. It is commonly translated to “Happiness”, but it
also got a sense of being fulfilled as well)
The
lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that she found it
harder and harder to love him, sadly that she couldn’t lift her hand. Why could
she get to know him a few more second earlier than the other girl. How could
she feel alright to see him love two people and are sorry. He promised that once

song that I pick for today is “畫意” by Ivana Wong. This was one of the
songs from Ivana’s early career period. Back then I didn’t really like the song
as I feel the tempo is a bit weird and it is just no of my liking. But now
listening to it again, it feels different and I start to like it more. The
title of the song can be translated as “Drawing sense”.
The
lyrics of the song are quite abstract, it is about the life of Vincent Van Gogh.
It said, other think that he was weird, he got fired, he was tricked by his
lover in the hopeless relationship, so crazy that he left his ear behind for his
lover as a decoration. Who was touched by his acts? Or perhaps felt more scare?

drawing. All he hope for was to draw out the light of the world, so that happiness

song for today is “重見家圓” by Ivana Wong. This was the
theme song of a catholic movie in 2007. I only heard it for the first time a
few days ago when I was going through my music library and I love the melody.
The direct English translation of the title is “Rebuilding home”.
The
lyrics of the song are about family. It said in the busy city, it is full of
lights. But these lights can’t penetrate through our hearts. The wind blows
over our tired face; it’s like say “my heart hurt”. In this house, there are
only cracks created from anger. Love has disappeared from the bricks. In our
big world, would we see another face that could heat up our hearts? Then in
some days, that very surprising day, the protagonist found God when she was in
a deep hole, she no longer need to stay on the street at night. Thanks to God,
she is not lonely anymore. She knows that God will accompany her. In the house,
people each other, but they don’t talk. Why home doesn’t feel like home.
Looking out the window, she see the tired sunset, she wonder which day they
will not need to argue again. Then in some days, that very surprising day, the
protagonist found God when she was in a deep hole, she no longer need to stay
on the street at night. Thanks to God, she is not lonely anymore. She is so
excited that she can’t described with words, and this changed her whole life. That
day was so surprising, the mirror that was broken could form back to one piece
(this is playing with an old Chinese saying that “破鏡重圓”,
direct meaning is broken mirror back to a whole, which means that things that
have been broken now return back to its original state.) She picked back up the
hope of love. The warm of her home makes her love her home. Hope you will like

The song that I chose for today is “想愛不相愛”
by Ivana Wong. This was the Chinese theme song for a Japanese movie. The direct
English translation of the title is “Want to love but not in love”.
The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said
the closer she gets the more she got disappointed as she knows his voice and
actions too well. There is no feeling anymore, so it is impossible to like him
again. If she got sick, she would pray for herself. When she gets tired, she
will no longer wish that someone will hug her. If he worries about her, he need
to understand that no matter what fall from the sky, they still need to live on.
If love between them is diminishing and they are somewhere between love and not
love, then if she wouldn’t keep waiting as she shouldn’t be greedy. Happiness has
been slowed down by silences. She made up her mind that even if she wanted to
cry, she will still try to learn. No need to be sad, if you got hurt you just

song that I chose for today is “細水長流” by Ivana Wong. This song was
originally sung by Aling Choi (who suicided last year due to depression). This
song was a classic and many singer had covered it and Ivana’s version is the
latest version. But note that even the original version by Aling Choi was a
cover version of a Spanish song “Lo Mejor De Tu Vida” by Julio Iglesias. The title
can be translated to English as “Steady” (a direct translation of the title is “small
water flow for a long time”, it is a phrase in Chinese that usually describe a
feeling which might not be very strong, but last for a long time.)
The
lyrics of the song are about love. It starts off saying that “no matter why and
what on its way, the water will flow. It will even cut through iron and rock.
This is water from a river that travels through the mountain. It will keep flowing
forward no matter what and it aims is to flow toward the sea. Until then it
will not give up. The love in my hear flows like the water. It will always flow
for you and toward you, in the past, present and even in the future. If your
eyes are a deep sea, then you have already immersed me. I am grateful that we
meet, just like river and the ocean. If one day we have to be separated, I will

song that I chose for today is “如果這是情” by Ivana Wong. This is a very
old song, originally sung by Leon Lai. Ivana recently cover this song in her
latest album. In my opinion, I think her version is a lot better than Leon’s
version. Today, if you listen to Leon’s version, you can hear the age of the
song, the tempo is very old fashion and it makes you feels that the song is too
slow. While I think Ivana’s version keep a similar pace, as they have changed
the melody a bit, the slowness adds to the mood the song created. The direct English
translation of the title is “If this is love”. (Note that this song was originally a Japanese song call "朋友" by Anzen Chitai 安全地帶)
The
lyrics of the song are about love. The lyrics start off by the protagonist

song that I chose for today is “我好愛你” by Ivana Wong. To be honest, I
never really notice that Ivana got this song. Though I have heard it many time
in radio drama. When I first listen to it, I didn’t like it too much as I found
the tempo is too slow. Perhaps it was the radio dramas, now when I listen to
it, it seems to paint a picture in my head. The direct English translation of
the title is “I love you so”.
The
lyrics of the song are about love. At the start, the protagonist said that she
is happy because she meets him, she is sad because their story is too
beautiful. Perhaps getting to know each other is already lucky, and fallen in
love have created a legend. She is happy because she look far in the future,
but sad because they make too many promises. The snows are white and she is
trying to hold up her tears. She loves him so and need him so much. She now got
him, but worry that she will lose him. They hugged each other and they had
loved each other so deeply, so she tries not to think too much. She said he is
too beautiful, and she loves him so deeply. Lack of oxygen had made her lost

The
song that I chose for today is “面具” by Ivana Wong. This is one of my
favourite from Ivana. I chose this song today purely because of the title. The
direct English translation of the title is “Mask”. It gets me thinking why
everyone in the world has to put on a mask when we meet with other. I hate it
when I see myself trying to act nice to someone that I truly hate. So many times
we misunderstand each other because we don’t understand the reason behind their
decision, so why should we hide? If we are open about it, then we could better
understand each other and probably be more forgivable. But I guess it is not
possible, as we are all selfish, we always wanted more for ourselves than
others.
The
lyrics of the song got are somewhat related to my thought above. The song is
about love. It is basically about the relationship between the protagonist and
her boyfriend. She feels that they are not as close to each other as they were,
they don’t talk to each other as much. But both of they don’t have to courage
to break up as they don’t want to regret. So they put up a mask, or a fake
face, to cover up their real emotion. Hope you will like the song.

song that I chose for today is “哥歌” by Ivana Wong. This song was
originally sung in a TV drama by Ivana. But I guess due to high popularity she makes
it into a complete song. I love this song the very first time I heard it in the
TV drama, and since then have been hoping that she would make a full version of
it. Finally, a few days ago the full version came out. The direct English translation
of the title is “Brother song”.
The
lyrics of the song are about the love between brother and sister. At the start
the protagonist said that “Brother, I love to hang around with you, playing,
traveling and watching movie. From day to night, it is full of surprise, it is
simple yet full of beauty. If one day I get married, I would still remember the
old broken shoes. Brother, I love to hang around with you, angry but also
praise. From day to night, you seem to be full of energy and fun, amount
friends and partners, you are the best. Please
forgive me for being too relied on you. If one day we happened to argue with

I
personally love this song, it is a beautiful song. Especially with the way
Ivana sung this song, it make it sounds very sweet. I hope you will enjoy the
