The song that I chose for today is “如果這是情” by Ivana Wong. This is a very old song, originally sung by Leon Lai. Ivana recently cover this song in her latest album. In my opinion, I think her version is a lot better than Leon’s version. Today, if you listen to Leon’s version, you can hear the age of the song, the tempo is very old fashion and it makes you feels that the song is too slow. While I think Ivana’s version keep a similar pace, as they have changed the melody a bit, the slowness adds to the mood the song created. The direct English translation of the title is “If this is love”. (Note that this song was originally a Japanese song call "朋友" by Anzen Chitai 安全地帶)

The lyrics of the song are about love. The lyrics start off by the protagonist questioning her love. She said, if this is love, how she could be so confuse. If it is really love, why there aren’t any notifications. If it was her destiny, then she can’t avoid this relationship. No matter how difficult it will be, the love will last for a long time. So please her dream to exchange his love. She wishes that he could be happy and found someone that loves him as much as she does, then there would be no need to test the relationship. She has devoted her life to love, but should she? If she meets her love one, how could she stay calm. If they already resonate, then why does he need to be so cruel? Dreams are always difficult; she felt that she is only half awake. She wishes that he could be happy and found someone that he truly love. The winds have slowed, but don’t let the love to cool.
