The song for today is “親朋勿友” by Stephy Tang and Theresa Fu. This song was released when the two were still in the singing called Cookies. This song is a reader request. Personally I am not a big fan of Stephy and Teresa, but typically, their duets (either between themselves, or one of them with another person) are quite good and popular. The direct English translation of the title is “Close friend, not friend”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The line sung by Stephy will be shown by “S:”, Theresa by “T:” and when they sing together “B:”. S: Me and him become friend once again, so it is alright to meet up with him. I trusted her, but I couldn’t believe that the relationship has ended. T: I am glade that we finally got the chance to meet again. If you haven’t fallen in love with him then please don’t have dinner. If I haven’t gone crazy yet, I guess I will soon. The song that I chose for today is “舊日的足跡” by Beyond. This is one of their classic. The more I listen to Beyond’s songs, the more I admire them. Despite their songs are almost 20 years old, they still feel very modern and that they are still reflecting our society. The direct English translation of the title is “The foot print of the past”.

The lyrics of the song are about thinking of the past. The protagonist said: “I need to find the foot print of the past once again. I need to find the past, the magical time. Her face is the only thing in my mind, and I just barely remember her. I just wanted to that again, a face with tears. Every face is cute and smiling at a distance. The song for today is “變色感情” by Paula Tsui. This is one of Paula’s classic and it was a very popular song. The direct English translation of the title is “Colour changing feeling”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said “Who was the person that started the story? There were painful times. The song for today is “是不是這樣的夜晚...你才會這樣的想起我” by Angela Pang. This is really the song that I know of that got the longest title. This version is the Cantonese version, the original Mandarin version was sung by Jacky Wu (吳宗憲). Both versions share the same title. The direct English translation of the title is “Does it has to be a night like this…. To have you remember me like this”.

The lyrics of both of the versions are about love. Here we will only focus on the Cantonese version. The protagonist said “There is a person under the night sky, he is accompanying me sitting next to the piano. Quietly, it played the song that me and him love the most. That eye, like it was trying to tell me some story from the past. So after I had left him, you would only remember me the way you do now. Does it has to be a night like this to have you remember me like this? Every night in the past, you tried to fade me out from your memory. So in my life, who should I hide my tears from? The song for today is “飛女正傳” by Miriam Yeung. This song is a reader request, it was very popular when it first released. The direct English translation of the title is “Female hooligan story”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said “Stepping over the life threating moment, we meet again on our bikes on a narrow road. The song for today is “富士山下” by Eason Chan. This is one of my favourite songs. What I love about this song is that it really paints a picture in my head as Eason sing. The direct English translation of the title is “Under Mt. Fuji”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said “The rain that blocks my way is like snow. You are crying, you feel cold? I had rubbed the windbreaker that you gave me to a point that it started to ware. I am not worry about changing job position, but I always still care about you, so I have chosen today to drive you home.
