The song that I chose for today is “優先訂座” by Jade Kwan. The direct English translation of the title is “Advance booking”.

The lyrics are about protagonist fighting for her love. It begins with the protagonist saying that she admit she didn’t thought about the consequences, she didn’t want to know nor did she wanted to see it through clearly, she advance booked the ticket just because she wanted a sit. She admit that she gave up on her kindness and listened to the devil, but she believe that she is still forgivable. If that’s her fate, then she will admit that she lost. If she is just a backup, then she just wanted to join the game. When that girl leaves, the sit will be empty and she will fill it up to begin their relationship. She said that him and her doesn’t wanted to be normal, they wanted their love story to be special. If she manages to get him from her hands, others will admire her courage. They don’t wanted to be average, so she will demonstrate how dramatic the ending could be. No matter how it will end, she will not give up. She admits that she is worry to be lonely, and she said she is naive. She knows in advance that she this will destroy her fame. She also admit that she didn’t think about how much it will cost her, she is selfish and she just wanted to takes half of what the other girls got. Although she is bleeding now and it is unstoppable, but she will not change her mind. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “情意結” by Priscilla Chan. Priscilla is one of my favourite singers. From memories this song dated back to 2003. The direct English translation of the title is “Attached feeling”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist asked why every time at breakfast, she feels that her spirit escaped her body. Then she realised it was because that day when she got dump, she still have to go to work. She knows that if she can make it through, others will look up to her, but she realised that being tough and loving herself is actually very hard. She feels that her love for him was wasted and cruel nice people are always beautiful. Don’t worry, no one will be able to replace you. So please leave behind some glass for her to knee on, because that way she believe that she will have new topic that she could discuss with you. Then don’t tell her to take care of herself and just let this slave of memory go. She will misunderstand your fake sigh as a real comfort. She believes that even knowing he will leave her again; she is still willing to fall in love with him again. So just let her keep dreaming about their love. There are many misunderstandings between them but why still visit her? But her pain disappeared when she think of him. When they become friend, she realised that she know him more. She realised that she still loves him. She is not afraid of this type of relationship, as she knows that all her ex’s will stick to her for her whole life. Hope you will enjoy the song.

13th Nov 2013 (忘記他 – Teresa Teng)

The song that I chose for today is “忘記他” by Teresa Teng. Teresa was very famous through the 70’s to early 90’s. She is recognised as one of the most iconic Chinese singer, it was rare back in her time (even now) to get into the Japanese music market and become successful. This song is one of her most popular songs. The direct English translation of the title is “Forget him”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that forget him is like forgetting everything. It also equals to giving up direction and losing yourself. Forget him is equals to forgetting happiness and locking up your heart with sadness. He was the only one that could get her to like herself. He also let her to use her love to turn normal things beautiful. Forget him, but how, she feels that he is engraved into her bones forever. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “找我” by Edmond Leung. The direct English translation of the title is “Search for me”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist trying to find himself. At the start the protagonist said that perhaps he had seen himself before, but he can’t remember when or where. He said only loneliness would recognise him and he is accompanied with silence. Day by day he is being torture by his thought. He just wanted to stay in the same place, and let others to search for him. He once buried his heart here, but the memories are too painful, so painful that it separated his body and soul. She once said that she love him, right? Now he is lost, but he doesn’t know where he is. So please hide caring thought as he doesn’t have the strength to receive it nor have the room to accept it. If he let his heart to go back to the land of love and do its act, he knows he will not be able to take it. So let just leave this as a legend and let it end. He searched for his own life story and he just wanted to let it die naturally. Hope you will like the song.

11th Nov 2013 (借火 – Juno Mak)

The song for today is “借火” by Juno Mak. Juno is one of the most underrated singers that I know of. His songs are that bad, but because of his image, looks and background, people tents to ignore him and his songs. He hardly sings these days, but he recently directed a Chinese horror movie. The direct English translation of the title is “Borrow fire”, this is a phase that smoker uses, they ‘borrow’ fire from people to start their cigarette.

The lyrics of the song are in a way about love. It start off with the protagonist said that he just went into a convenient store for cigarette but he got no fire. He saw her walk by and wanted to borrow some fire, which he believe isn’t asking too much. Even if he didn’t say a word, she should be able to tell that he just wants fire (in this lyrics, it seems that fire also referred to sex). He didn’t expect much when they get close. Perhaps they might watched TV together quietly and she will slowly forget about him. She doesn’t need to remember who he is. He didn’t ask much from her, he just want her to give him some fire. He can light up the fire for her as well and then start looking at her face. The smoke will show that they have burned their memories. He looks at the mirror everyday just because he doesn’t want to love someone else, and randomly he bump into her and notice that she has a broken heart. He doesn’t wish for much, just wanted some company. They can just drink soup together quietly, and she doesn’t need to know him well. He just wanted her for some fire. When the cigarette burnout, she can completely forget about him, it is better that she forgot about him. He can give she some happiness, he might be able to heal her wound. He doesn’t wish for any ending, any sadness, he just wanted all the memories to be burned with the smoke. Fireworks are too lonely, but cigarette, at least you can wait for someone to light it up. The song that I chose for today is “原來戀愛” by Leon Lai. This is one of Leon’s classic. The direct English translation of the title is “So I am in love”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. It begins with the protagonist realised that he always laugh but doesn’t speak much, just like a kid when they put some candy into their mouth. He wonders why she hasn’t notice about him? Recently, he like to cut things in half. He always act secretly, there seems to be something wrong with him. He always walk by when there is nothing special, the truth is that he wanted to get closer to her. So he is in love, but he didn’t say it out loud. He is deep in love but none of his friend realised. He knows he wasn’t pretending to be in love. He is trying to keep it low, but really he wanted to let everyone knows, to announce that he is in love. He is worry that no one care, so he doesn’t know how to tell others. So come everyone, within the time limit say 50 things that are wrong with him. With his recent acts, people should know that there is something wrong with him. If people look closer, they should realised that he is in love. Hope you will like the song.

9th Nov 2013 (波斯貓 – Roman Tam/憧れの SUMMER HOUSE –中村雅俊)

The song that I chose for today is “波斯貓” by Roman Tam. This is one of Roman’s classic. I am not sure why this song keeps popping up in my head today, so I decided to talk about it here. The direct English translation of the title is “Persian cat”. This song is the Chinese cover of the Japanese song “憧れの SUMMER HOUSE” by 中村雅俊.

Although it doesn’t especially said in the lyrics, but I think to a certain degree the ‘cat’ in this song is referring to a sexy girl that the protagonist know. The song begins with the protagonist said that the cat voice is sweet and deep. At night, he is no longer lonely. The cat shakes its waist and jumped slightly. Its eyes are so shinily that it reflects like a crystal. So sexy, so shinily. Its light body is so white, and looking at it makes him feel hot. Without wearing cloth, it body is so small. Its two eyes are like stars and very attractive. He wanted to take cares of it for his whole life. When he saw the cat, he will forget all his pain from works. In bed, it gives him warm. Persian cat, sexy body, it accompany him and he no longer feel lonely. The Persian cat that he is holding sounds sexy. It is swinging it tail, twisting it waist and making noises.
