The
song that I chose for today is “星秀傳說” by Sammi Cheng. This song came
out in 1997, it was very popular back then, it was also the time when Sammi was
very popular. I remember I used to loop between this song and “一夜成名”. As the two songs were so popular, there was a
remix version call “星秀傳說 (一夜星秀版)”
which mixes the two songs together. The direct English translation of the title
is “Star show legend”.
Not
sure about it actual intention, but I think the lyrics actually describing how
Sammi feels back then. The lyrics are basically about a rising star. It said
that the protagonist wonder who’s the person named the stars on the sky, and
why every star got a name. She wishes that she could do something great, she had
achieved this many time in her dreams, so let’s use the stars in the sky to
form her name. She is a person that likes to gaze at the stars. She understands
that stars could be uses to guide directions and if it is dark at night, their
light could lighten the road. She said that it is not easy to be famous, but
she wishes that her fate would lead her to a high place, like where the stars
are, then it will be her dream came true. Hope you will like the song.
