18th May 2014 (我來自北京 – Leon Lai)

The song that I chose for today is “我來自北京” by Leon Lai. The direct English translation “I am from Beijing”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist asked why he was troubled like a campanula. When he steps onto the street again, he didn’t know where to go. Why it is like the rind never stop and that there is always something troubling him. Why she hasn’t understood his facial expression, and that they can’t seems to communicate. He wishes that she could agree today and told everyone that they are in love. He wonders whether she understands the rule for love. “I, I, I was born in Beijing” he doesn’t know who determined his fate. “I, I, I was born in Beijing”, he can’t express his love clearly. “I, I, I was born in Beijing”, but she is passionate and romantics. “I, I, I was born in Beijing”, it is impossible to clearly explain his life in one night. Why it feels like that there is a ghost in his head, and all he could think of is dawn. Why it feels like he wouldn’t get anything in return for his love, and no matter what they do together he doesn’t feel that they are connected. In their life journey, there were a lot of departures in the past, he felt that it was fate that brought them together. He wanted to stop, but it seems that she hasn’t make up her mind yet. Hope you will like the song.

17th May 2014 (借借你肩膀 – Daniel Chan)

The song that I chose for today is “借借你肩膀” by Daniel Chan. The direct English translation of the title is “Borrow your shoulder”.

The lyrics of the song are about finding someone for support. The protagonist said he had walked a thousand miles after a thousand miles and he can’t feel any worry. Blinking his eyes, blinking his eyes, he still hasn’t cried. He sees himself a few times working so hard. Walked across a few mountains alone; fixed many things by his hands without help. He listened to his foot step and thought about he managed it all, without knowing whether she is standing behind him. No matter how strong you are, you need a shoulder. At least in the dark you could find some support. Borrowing your shoulder could help him feel less lonely. Even if he will get lonely, at least he knows he got somewhere to return to. If he got lost one day, she could accompany him to get lost. He wanted to fall into someone when he feels tired and weak. If he is careless, he wanted someone to be with him. When they are together, he is not worry to be weak nor fall over, but worry that they are not synchronised. Being together could be more beautiful, but worry that they are not synchronised. Being together, he is not worry to be weak nor fall over, but worry that they are not synchronised. Hope you will like the song.

16th May 2014 (女魔術師的催眠療法 – Candy Lo)

Got a little busy yesterday so didn’t manage to write a post, this one will fill in for yesterday, the one for today will be coming soon.

The song that I chose for yesterday was “女魔術師的催眠療法” by Candy Lo. The direct English translation of the title is “Female magician hypnotherapy”.

The lyrics of the song are very fantasy. The protagonist said to forget about it and go to sleep. Forget about it, go and take a bath, forget. Rose, mixed with wine and swallowed. Put the moon you your face and let the music begin. The rose is growing, and let the fresh flower to cover your body. Dance at night but didn’t brought along your map. There is wave, but no wind. Traveling in the cloud and going toward to the moon. Read the wrong door sign, reached the cliff side and the snow blowed to the face. There is no end to this, and the spirit walked across at night. Got lost in that magic sleeping land. This weird place could be counted as a hidden treasure. If you believe you will get happiness. Hope you will like the song.

15th May 2014 (生日快樂 – Grace Ip/生日快樂 – Eric Kwok)

The song for today is “生日快樂” by Grace Ip. This song is also sing by Eric Kwok, the song writer and Grace’s husband. I think Grace is the original singer, but I guess most people are more familiar with Eric’s version. Both versions are quite different in feeling, while Grace’s version sounds more sad, Eric’s version sounds more happy (but note that the lyrics are different).  The direct English translation of the title is “Happy birthday”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that at dawn, the glass broke and the candle is blow offed like the air has all burned out. The perfume that she put on, is now all turned into steam. Even if it was very strong, she didn’t remember that he smelled it. Happy birthday, she let that exciting her in the mirror to think about the protagonist of today. She wishes that he is with his love. She also wishes that she could memorise this moment. Happy birthday, she just wanted her empty body to be filled by happiness again. She wishes that this signal could be fallen into his pocket and helps her to kiss him on his shoulder. At dawn, the glass broke and the candle is blow offed like the air has all burned out. The perfume that she put on, is now all turned into steam. Even if it was very strong, she didn’t remember that he smelled it. Happy birthday, she wishes that her empty soul could dream about the protagonist today. She wishes that after their happy time, she could be fallen in love with him, but now she is too tired and stayed in bed. . Happy birthday, she just wanted her empty body to be filled by happiness again. She wishes that this signal could be fallen into his pocket and helps her to kiss him on his shoulder. Hope you will like the song. I have also linked Eric’s version, so that you can have a better idea of how different the two song are.

14th May 2014 (暗戀你 – Jacky Cheung/Sentimental Christmas – 浜田省吾)

The song that I chose for today is “暗戀你” by Jacky Cheung. This song is rather old. The direct English translation of the title is “Crush on you”. This song is the Chinese cover version of the Japanese song “Sentimental Christmas” by 浜田省吾.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that in the sea of people, would she know that his spirit isn’t there. His love end like wind, there are no future; he never had turely fallen in love. Hard to withstand, would she knows that in someone heart, her laughter is like tides, moves ups and downs. This is call cute, he is truly in love. Who could give her tenderness each night? But each night, he feels pain quietly. Perhaps this is the truth, and there wouldn’t be any dreams; but it would be enough if she knows. He once waited for his love on the street, and tonight, he did it for her again, just like at the beginning when he had a crush on her. Hope you will like the song. I have also linked to the original Japanese version for comparison.

13th May 2014 (晚晚禮拜六 – Pong Nan)

The song that I chose for today is “晚晚禮拜六” by Pong Nan. The direct English translation of the title is “Every night is Saturday”. This song was from 3 years ago. It was a song that Pong aimed to do something different than his usual. It was quite successful, as the song sounds a lot more ‘fun’ than his usual, but personally I didn’t like it too much, as I like his old style much more.

The lyrics of the song are about having fun. It said that Imelda come and visit every Tuesday. That second generation, wear his suit every Sunday. He also put his hand in the pocket, and hides in the corner to stare at the protagonist. Everyone tried their best, it is like as if tomorrow is the brightest day. The last day of the year, then it is the first day of the year. He still remembers that her name is Isetan. If her normal day is not relax enough, then at night order a glass of nice wine to relax more. Tomorrow is like the end of the world, you should try to loosen yourself. Every night is like Saturday, which vegetarian doesn’t eat meat? Every night is like Saturday, your wine have added poison already. That noble is drinking yogurt and eating pop-corn. Brother Sing and Uncle Tin are warming up the champagne for bath. They wear their uniform and told Mary that she is wasting her life. They come here together to play hard like there is no tomorrow. Last day of the year and then the start of the year, he remembers that the husband of the rich lady got Kwan as surname. If you everyday life is so normal, then you need to get excited at night. Tomorrow is like the end of the world, so it is ok to loosen yourself. He scare, his jokes, all like winds that just blowed away. Talk about her stitching skill, or his cigar, he liked them both. From Monday to Sunday, he welcome everyone to treat wine like tea. Tomorrow is like the end of the world, then let loosen ourself. Hope you will like the song.
