A Song a day: 10th Aug 2013 (時間之光

The song that I chose for today is “時間之光” by Sammi Cheng. This was a song from 2002, the direct English translation of the title is “The light of time”.

The lyrics of the song are about life, about letting go. It begins with the protagonist saying that she once see one of her doll more important than herself. That naivety and happiness have been lost through time. She once values a friend more important than herself. They travel through life together, but eventually their friendship comes to an end. So, if you can keep the happiness, then we should learn to cry and let go. If there is a wound that we can’t forget, then try not to think about it. We need to learn how to escape from time, so that we wouldn’t waste our life. So she starts again and tries to search for her true love. But one day, her lover just decided to leave. He dreams didn’t come true and she said she needs to learn how to let go. So no matter how deeply we love each other, there will come a day when we separated. Time will heal our wound, so if we can’t stay with our love one forever, we need to be able to leave with a smile. Hope you will like the song.
