The song that I chose for today is “501” by Edmond Leung. This song was very popular, and it gives one of the peaks to Edmond’s career. “501” is a Levis jeans number, it is considered as one of their classic jean and I guess it is one of their best sellers as well.

The lyrics of the song are about love. It begins with the protagonist saying that his jean is very old and perhaps it is about to wear out. In the last few years it got a lot of wear and it is cover by sweat. When she was still with him, she likes to fix up his jean. But now, his jean is still fine, but she has already left him. He wonders what is lacking between the two of them. If one day she and someone else are wearing this jean, the jean will recognise him. Now he said he doesn’t need to follow what she wears anymore. So he hopes that if one day he bumps into her, she would not blame the jean for not wearing out. Perhaps the trend was short, but he still wears this jean to work every day. He said that she will not remember him as there are so many boys out there that are wearing this model of jean. But there is only one person that will have this wear out blue jean.
