The song that I chose for yesterday was “旅程” by Danny Chan. This is the chinese cover of a Japanese song “そねぞねの秋” by Tanimura Shinji (谷村新司). The direct English translation of the title is “Journey”.

The lyrics of the song are about life. It begins by saying that we all travel fast in our life and this journey through life could never move backward. Every day we tried to climb higher and higher and we accepted all the difficulties that come at us. Let hope that every relationship will be beautiful, regardless of the season. Let things turn old. We will keep all the good memories in our heart and hope that we will always be together. Happiness is surrounding us. If trouble come and find me, I will accept it. Today I might not see the end, but tomorrow I will finish these works. Let hope that we can smile when we travel through our life and search for our freedom. 6th Jul 2013 (長城 - Beyond)

The song that I chose for today is “長城” by Beyond. This is one of their classic and it is also one of my favourite. The direct English translation of the title is “Great wall”. This song is to express Ka Kui (vocal of Beyond) feeling towards the Great Wall of China. While most people view the Great Wall of China to be something amazing, they tents to describe as a scar.

The lyrics of the song are about their feeling for the Great Wall of China. It begins by telling us that there is this broken wall in China. This wall was vicissitudes to the ancestor, but it is being show off by the descendants, it connect miles after miles. It surrounds an ancient world and covers the truth. It surrounds the greatest time and it surrounds the wishes and dreams. In a superstition village, in the mysterious centre, the war from the past is still occurring. The king wears new cloths and a spear that is full of blood. Let’s cover our ear, then we will not hear the people in need. Let’s cover our eyes and say goodbye to the scar that we were so proud of. Under this broken wall, no one could break free.

As far as I know, this song is banded in China due to the message in the lyrics. Reading it nowadays, I can understand why so many people still love the songs from Beyond. This song was created in 1992, and the lyrics are still applied in current time. Hope you will enjoy the song.

5th Jul 2013 (極速 – Ekin Cheng)

The song that I chose for today is “極速” by Ekin Cheng. This was a theme song for a move that was about motorcycle street racing. I remember my friend like to play this song in his car when he drive and pretend he was speeding. The direct English translation of the title is “Super speed”.

The lyrics of the song are about racing. It begins with the protagonist telling us that it is at night when starts and polices are at sleep. Now all of them get together and race. In the race the cars move like a snake and drift. They don’t want to wake up and they just wanted to be taken over by their emotion. During the race, they forgot anger and they feel that they become god and so many people worship them. Looking at the mirror, he sees his opponents are reducing in sizes and he feels stronger. He now feels that he is the king. Though at the same time, he understand that he is burning his youth and rising his life, but it seems that he just love the sensation that he gets from racing. The song that I chose for today is “繾綣星光下” by Shirley Kwan. This is one of Shirley most popular songs. This is the Cantonese covered version of a France song “Tour L'temps, Tout L'temps” by Elsa Lunghini. The direct English translation of the Chinese title is “Embraced by the star light”.

The lyrics of the song are about romance. At the start the protagonist said that admired is always short and beauty always change. She doesn’t believe these, but under the star light, all of these appeared like in a dream, it didn’t feel real. She is still shock, but she still hasn’t expressed her love yet. Thought, she feels that their heart is already connected, they can chat endlessly, like as if they have been trained to fallen in love. Look the start light is warm and they are embraced. She said it is hard to have one of these nights. She was always waiting in the past, and that night she can’t control herself. The song that I chose for today is “天氣會變” by Leo Ku. I remember I used to listen to this song a lot, just like many of the other songs, I just like the melody of it without really understanding the lyrics. The direct English translation of the title is “Weather will change”.

The lyrics of the song are about love and life. It start with the protagonist saying that he understand him and his wife can’t always stay together. He felt guilty that he can’t be with her at night. He chooses his dream over her, and it felt as if he has forgotten time. He felt guilty that he can’t say sorry to her every time. He said even if there wouldn’t be any more sunny days and the snow may build up on the ground, the temperature in his heart wouldn’t change. The weather could change, but his heart will never change. His heart will always be with her. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “壯志嬌陽” by Jacky Cheung. This is a classic from Jacky, it used to be play on TV show a lot. This song is one of those that are used to cheer up people spirit. The closest translation of the title in English is “Great aspiration”. Note that like many song from the 80’s and 90’s, this song is the Chinese cover of the Japanese song “愛は勝つ” by Kan.

The lyrics of the song are about love and passion. The lyrics start with the protagonist said that he is about to leave home so that he could provide a better life for their future. His partner is worry about him, but he told her not to worry, even though they are far apart but their heart will be together forever. So let him fly to this new place and reach a new height. He is not scared about this new place as he feels that she is always with him. He wishes that one day they would be achieving their dreams together. He felt that the sky is limitless and he thought of her. He remembers that she told him even when time past, she will still be waiting for him to return. His plane is about to land and he can’t hide his happiness. In his hand is the watch that she gave him, and it remind him to treasure each and every second. Hope you will like the song. The song that I chose for today is “祝你旅途愉快” by Edmond Leung. The direct English translation of the title is “Wish you will have a happy journey”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The lyrics start in spring. The protagonist got his girlfriend to say goodbye to him, and he told her that they will one day meet again. Now it is the summer, his ship sunk. He fights to survive as he is traveling by himself. He thought of his girlfriend, he wishes her luck and he still treasures her. But he feels that she wasn’t really in love with him, so he let her go, and wishes that they will see each other again in another summer. Now it is autumn, he had push through many difficulties. As he is traveling by himself, he must take care of himself. He thought of his girlfriend again. He felt that they were almost be able to be together. Again, he wishes her luck and treasure the time that they spent together. Now it is winter and this time it is the reverse. She come by and wishes him to have a happy journey.
