A Song a day: 5th Jul 2013 (極速

The song that I chose for today is “極速” by Ekin Cheng. This was a theme song for a move that was about motorcycle street racing. I remember my friend like to play this song in his car when he drive and pretend he was speeding. The direct English translation of the title is “Super speed”.

The lyrics of the song are about racing. It begins with the protagonist telling us that it is at night when starts and polices are at sleep. Now all of them get together and race. In the race the cars move like a snake and drift. They don’t want to wake up and they just wanted to be taken over by their emotion. During the race, they forgot anger and they feel that they become god and so many people worship them. Looking at the mirror, he sees his opponents are reducing in sizes and he feels stronger. He now feels that he is the king. Though at the same time, he understand that he is burning his youth and rising his life, but it seems that he just love the sensation that he gets from racing.
