The song for today is “迴旋木馬的終端” by Gigi Leung. This song is a reader request. It was the theme song for the movie “Turn Left, turn right” (向左走向右走), which was based on a picture book by a Taiwanese artist Jimmy Liao (幾米). The direct English translation of the title is “The ending of marry-go-round”.

The lyrics of the song are about fate. It said, a road, a person, a thousand miles, have the characters in the story got together? A moon, a sun, a breath, where will she meet him again. Since I talked about David Tao yesterday, I think I should also talk about his other iconic song “愛很簡單” today. This song is even more famous than the one from yesterday. The direct English translation of the title is “Love is simple”. What I like about this song is that it got a rather simple melody and the piano solo at the beginning.

The lyrics of the song are about protagonist realising how simple love could be, and there is no specific reason that you need to fall in love with someone. He said, he forgot how it begin, perhaps he had some feeling for her. Suddenly he found himself deeply in love with her, really simple. Love, it doesn’t matter if the sky get dark. Right or wrong, couldn’t choose. Never regretted that he followed her day and night all because of love. The song for today is “普通朋友” by David Tao (陶喆). David is a very famous Taiwanese singer and this song is one of his famous song. The direct English translation of the title is “Average Friend”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist saying that he doesn’t just want to be her average friend. It said, waiting, he is always waiting, to become the person responsible for her feelings. He has no doubt that this is love. He guessed, she wanted to clear this up a long time age. He felt that he is a loser, falling from haven to the lowest of the lowest, very helpless. He is willing to change (what can I do), start from the beginning again (just give me chance). He couldn’t be just a friend, their relationship is already so deep, how could he let go? The song for today is “走音” by Justin Lo. I used to listen to this song a lot. The direct English translation of the title is “Off pitch”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist trying to get the girl that he like to love him through his song. It said, he doesn’t know how to make jokes to make her happy. He doesn’t know how to social, but he still try to get closer. He tried to catch her attention by his songs, as she likes pop songs. Letting her listen to it would she start to like him? Wrote a song for her, telling her he loves her. IT didn’t touched her and she thinks that he is not pop enough. He was the one that play the piano, so please forgive him that his movement is not attractive enough. So no matter how beautiful the melody is, it wouldn’t be able to touch her. Applaud as usual, but he felt that it is a bit farfetched. When he turns around, he only see her listening and talking on the phone. Too boring or too busy? Why didn’t she sing along?
