The
song for today is “秋止符” by Hacken Lee. This song I believe is a Cantonese
cover of a Japanese song, however I was unable to track down the original
version. The title is a bit hard to translate. The title resembles the phase “休止符”
meaning a rest note in a music script. As “秋” means autumn, the title
mean “A break in autumn”.
This
song is a hidden gem. It is a very unpopular song, one that was never plugged
on radio or TV station, not a song that got sung during concert. I came across
this song the other day when I was ripping it from my CD and I fall in love
with it. It got such potential to be a hit song. The lyrics of the song uses
autumn to describe love. The protagonist said: “No need for the foliage to fall
to remind me. Know it is autumn, know it is autumn. No need for the foliage to
dry up to tell me, that she left, that she left. Perhaps I needed to cry so
that people would believe that I love her as before? Perhaps when there is a
crack in love, crying to heal it? If autumn have heart, I wish you know that
spring plus heart is worry (in this they are referring to the words. Autumn (秋),
heart (心) and worry (愁)). Please don’t stay, asked when will
you rest. Run, quickly run. Summer passes by, just wanted winter to return
quickly. My mind is full of worry, it is enough to regret for life. This is the
time, the break of autumn started to play again, heart will not rest, heart
will not rest. This is the time, hold onto the relationship from the past, the
love from the past; couldn’t get rid of it, couldn’t get rid of it. Wishing
that if I can see her again, she would accept me once more. For the cracks from
the past, let’s fix it together. Remembered on that day when I said to breakup,
I said it because I lost control of myself. This moment, I wish you could
understand how regret I felt.” Hope you will like this song.
