14th Jan 2017 (今夜星光燦爛 – Tat Ming Pair)

The song for today is “今夜星光燦爛” by Tat Ming Pair. I recently have been keep listening to Tat Ming Pair’s songs, and this song is one of those that I looped a lot yet haven’t wrote a post on. The direct English translation of the title is “Tonight the stars are brilliant”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist meet a girl when he was driving. He didn’t think too much, just feel that perhaps the two of them will go somewhere. But by the end of the ride he realised that he will be disappointed. He said: “The neon made the sky bright, and they also shined the city bright. Lost on the road, just wishes that during this mid night to found a new direction. In the Statue Square (a square in Hong Kong), the lights are dense. Gazing to the shore on the other side, there are lots of light by the sea side. A poignant scene. Just wished to see everything during this dark night. Wish to explore. Following the lead of the light, she approached me. Didn’t asked her name, just wished that she could be wild with me. In the star light, we drove fast. Wishes that the two of us could own the night. Riding this fast car. Speeding in the light; the disappointed kid. Please see this bright city. Keep racing, but questioned in the heart. Worry that the brightness of the city will end now. The end of the red, yellow and green light; the end of the mental world limit. Never scare of the cold night wind, the car never slowed down. An absurd tonight. Going around this city to gaze at this dark night. No last stop. A boring night, the star light cut through the darkness. The elegant city is brilliant, crystal clear and hot. A pair of eye, couldn’t dismissed. Wish that the two of us could rush to this bright light. Fallen in the arms of this night. Speeding in the light; the disappointed kid. Please see this bright city. Keep racing, but questioned in the heart. Worry that the brightness of the city will end now.” Hope you will enjoy this song as much as I do.
