The song for today is “忘不了您” by Alan Tam. This is one of Alan’s signature songs and it is one of my favourite from Alan. The direct English translation of the title is “Can’t forget you”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that his girlfriend is very important to him. She makes him feels that every day is a sunny day. He have forgotten how they have meet or why he fallen in love with her, but he will remember for life that he loves for his whole life and always be truthful to her. She is the person that gave him hope and gets him to look forward every day. Hope you will like this song.

I just realised that this song is a Cantonese cover version of the Japanese song “戀人よ” by Mayumi Itsuwa (五輪真弓 ) . Apparently there are a few more Cantonese cover of this song, perhaps I will talk about them in the future. I have now also linked to the original Japanese version. Enjoy :D

The song that I chose for today is “高溫派對” by Beyond. This is one of their classic. The direct English translation of the title is “High temperature party”.

The lyrics of the song are about youth and partying. It basically tells us that the temperature is high and it starts to heat up our youth. It makes the world colourful and our body starts to moves. The song that I chose for today is “沒有人” by Juno Mak. This is one of Juno’s most famous songs. The direct English translation of the title is “Nobody”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. Opposite to the song “有人”, in this song, the protagonist fallen in love with this girl. This girl always seems to protect him and takes care of him. But eventually he realised that she never love him as a partner. He realised that he was just too sensitive. All the good thing that he thought she did was really just his imagination. The song that I chose for today is “有人” by Juno Mak. Many people hated Juno, but personally, I think some of his songs are pretty good. The direct English translation of the title is “Someone”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist rejecting a girl that loves him. He told her not to cry as she did nothing wrong. He hope that she can reserved this love and pass it onto the next person that she love. He knows that she treat him very well, and he wonder why he have to do this to her. If he knew that he can’t accept her, perhaps he should just pretend that he didn’t know that she loves him, then at least they could still be friends. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “伙頭仔昆布” by Grasshopper. This was the theme song for a cartoon, it bring back so much memories when I listen to this song. The direct English translation of the title is “The cook called Seaweed”.

The lyrics of the song are about a cook call ‘Seaweed’. From the lyrics, it seems that this cook is very good at cooking. All the kids love him. Because his food is so tasty, all the kid becomes fat. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “鑽石人生” by Hacken Lee. This song is rather new, it came out only last year. The direct English translation of the title is “Diamond life”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. It begins by saying that breaking up with your love one, there is only pain and no doctor would heal us. But just like wounds we bleed. A couple only need one second to become stranger, just like their spirit have been removed by a magnet. Thinking about the past, the protagonist still remember the smell of her hair and her kisses. When they were together, they thought that they would be together forever even if they were very poor. But time tells, he realised that what he have done is not enough to fulfil her ambitions. If the length of time for their relationship could redeem points, he wishes to use this point to redeem her soul. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “亞拉伯跳舞女郎” by Beyond. This is one of Beyond’s classic from their first album. The direct English translation of the title is “Arabian dancing girl”.

The lyrics of the song are about dreams and love. The protagonist was sitting on the side and getting drunk. In his dream he saw an Arabian dancing girl and he wanted to fall in love with her. But when he woke up, she is gone with his dream. He wanted to get drunk again so that he could see her again, but he knows that he will never be able to see her again. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “人若然忘記了愛” by Ronald Cheng. A few years I was crazy about Ronald’s songs, I search everywhere for his old albums and I found two of my favourite albums. This song is in one of them. The direct English translation of the title is “If human forget about love”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. It begin with the protagonist asking about his partner, is it that she is too tired for their relationship as he feel cold looking into her eyes. The flowers that he gave her can’t seem to bring the warmness from the greenhouse to her heart. If human have forgotten about love, then how could they ever loved each other. He hope that she can lean on him and listen to his heartbeat. He wonder whether she is too boarded that he can’t see love from her eyes. It seems that fireworks can’t bring back the colours into her heart. If human forgot about love and are too busy to race with time. He wishes that she could look out at the window with him. The song that I chose for today is “Can we try” by Leo Ku. This song is old and it is one of my favourite from Leo.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The lyrics seems to describe that the protagonist had broken up with his girlfriend, but he wanted to start over again however his girlfriend is worry about their relationship and feel reluctant. So he tells her to forget about their past and just pretend that they just meet today. He hopes that she will learn to not give up and not let go of their relationship. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “勞絲.萊絲” by Charmaine Fong. This song is the demo version of a song sung by Denise Ho (for Denise's version click here), Denise version of the song got the same name. The direct English translation of the title is “Rolls. Royce”.

From the title you might think that the song is about the company Rolls Royce, but in fact it is about a love story between a gay couple, one call Rolls and the other call Royce. Some parts of the lyrics do not flow, but I guess that’s because this song was originally a demo. The lyrics begins by telling us that there are two people, one called Rolls and the other call Royce. Rolls is a sad beginning and Royce is very handsome and selfish. They have gone through a lot and decided to go back to a simple life. Rolls would be happy to go around the world just to get Royce to fall in love with him. Rolls said that he will take cares of Royce’s daily life. If they only stay as close friends, it would be sad. He is not scared about how the rest of the world sees him, he will not hide. Even if the rest of the world looks down at him, he thinks that their love will still be beautiful. The song that I chose for today is “搖搖” by Jacky Cheung. I remember I used to listen to this song when I was on the way to uni. The direct English translation of the title is “Shake shake”.

I think this song is written for Jacky’s kids, as it is a song that is about getting kids to sleep. It begins with the protagonist telling us that the basket swing and you can hear the sound of sea and wind. Mermaids and whales will come and listen to this song, and you will soon start dreaming. The basket swing again, and now you are at the edge of the world. Mermaids and whales will sleep with you. Sleep, don’t be afraid. Your legs will let you run across the mountain. You will enjoy gazing at the stars. Your eyes will let you see the goods of the world, your ears will be fills with laughter. Hope you will the song.

The song that I chose for today is “露西 (3,180,000 B.C. - )” by Candy Lo. This song was from 2005, so it is rather old. The direct English translation of the title is “Lucy (3,180,000 B.C. - )”.

Personally, I don’t fully understand the lyrics. From what I know, the name “Lucy” in the title is making reference to the corpse of the hominid found in Ethiopia, it was named as Lucy and found to be 4 to 2.7 million years old. From my understanding, the lyrics are about the protagonist thinks that the world that we are living in today is very complex. She sees that technology have improved our life, move us from cave to house, but the society is getting more and more complex. So she wishes that they can go back in time, living in the pre-historic time. Hope you will the song.

The song that I chose for today is “愛與誠” by Leo Ku. This song came out at one of Leo’s climax in his career. The direct English translation of the title is “Love and trust”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The couple in the song wanted to breakup, but neither of them wanted to say it out loud, so they keep playing along. The protagonist wishes that they could be honest to themselves so that both of them don’t need to suffer. He thinks that perhaps if he became a pat maybe the situation would be much better than now. If they become friends, would it still feel alright? He thought not, perhaps they need to be total stranger in order for them to feel ok about each other. He feel that forcing himself to be in love is worse than breaking up and it is so hard to pretend nothing had happened between them. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “秋去秋來” by Sally Yip. This is one of Sally’s classic songs. The direct English translation of the title “Autumn come, autumn goes”.

The lyrics of the songs are about love. It is autumn, and the red and yellow leaves are lying on the protagonist’s window. She is thinking of him, whether he would feel cold. She wonders why it was him who get her thinking, and why every time she think of him, she feel pain. It’s the cold autumn again, and the never ending sadness autumn. She wonders whether he knows that after he left, she has been thinking of him. People always ask her why she is waiting for him and how could she not fallen in love with another person. She told herself that forgetting him makes sense, but every time she saw fallen leaves, she thought of him. So she rather there will be no autumn. Every time in autumn, she cries. She wonders when she will be able to see him again. She wonders to what age she will finally accept the fact that their relationship had ended. Every time autumn comes by, she feel empty, the only thing that keep her going is to believe that they will meet each other again. Hope you will like the song.
