Beyond’s
songs are timeless, even when this song was written 30+ years ago, it still has
such a great impact when I listen to it. The lyrics are about racism, how
people hope to overcome the problem that imposed on them by their skin colour.

song for today is “再見理想” by Beyond. This song is a reader request. I thought I
have done this song before (like many other reader request), so it was probably
a song that I thought I would write about, but for some reasons I decided not
to for that day and then forgot about it lol. So it is good that it is being
suggested as a reader request :D The title of the song in English is “Goodbye
dream”. This song was from the album with the same name made in 1986. It was
the last album by Beyond when they were still an indie band.

song marked the transition of Beyond, it basically describes their feeling of
moving away as an indie band. The lyrics said: “Sitting alone on the corner of

TVB drama, as the drama often refer to the movie, it keep plying the MMO of
this song as background music. So every time I heard the MMO, I sing along in
my heart and it makes me wanted to listen to it. The direct English translation
of the title is “Grey trail”.

lyrics of the song, I think, is about how we being drift away from the path

song for today is “抗戰二十年” by Beyond. I chose Beyond’s
song for today because of what’s happening in Hong Kong. Currently, many people
in Hong Kong are protesting for true democracy, expressing their view in hope
for the government to hear their voice. Many of the protesters are students. I
often hear people say that these student have been manipulated, using them as a
tool to create chaos. I really disagree with this, why do these people ignore
the voice of the student because of their age? Just because they are younger,
doesn’t mean that they don’t know what they want. They are the next generation
of the society, they should have their say. Besides, without being as old as us
adult, they are less tide down by the stress that put on them from the society,
they are less fear on speaking up and showing us the true faces of our society.
So as an adult, I truly respect their action. I sometime feel ashamed that as
an adult, I fail to protect the next generation, leaving them to stand up for
the whole society. While I am overseas and really can’t do much to support, I
would like to show my support through the song for today. The direct English

More
on the song, this is quite special, as it was released after the leader Ka Kui
passed away. The melody was written by Ka Kui before he passed away. After many
years, the other three members decided to use this melody and produce a new

classic. The more I listen to Beyond’s songs, the more I admire them. Despite their
songs are almost 20 years old, they still feel very modern and that they are
