27th Nov 2016 (光輝歲月 – Beyond)

The song for today is “光輝歲月” by Beyond. This is one of their classic song. The direct English translation of the title is “Glory days”.

Beyond’s songs are timeless, even when this song was written 30+ years ago, it still has such a great impact when I listen to it. The lyrics are about racism, how people hope to overcome the problem that imposed on them by their skin colour. It said: “The bell start to ring the homing signal. In his life, this bring him a bit of sigh. The meaning of the black skin, is a life of giving, in the war of skin colour. Time changed what he owns to loses. The tired eyes carry a bit of hope. Today there is only the drained body lift, to welcome the glory days. Hugging the freedom in the storm. A life through frightened struggling. Believing that the future could be changed, but who could achieve that. A place that doesn’t distinguished people by skin colour, wishing that in this land we don’t distinguish people by classes. The shining beauty of the colours, is because it didn’t try to separate the different colours. Time changed what he owns to loses. The tired eyes carry a bit of hope. Today there is only the drained body lift, to welcome the glory days. Hugging the freedom in the storm. A life through frightened struggling. Believing that the future could be changed, but who could achieve that.” Hope you will like this song.
