The
song that I chose for today is “救生圈” by Fiona Fung. This song was
originally sung by Twins, but I like Fiona’s version better. As Fiona was the
person that wrote the lyrics so I think she was better at expressing the
feeling of the song. The direct English translation of the title is “Lifebuoy”.
The
lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that when her boyfriend
looked at his old toys, he said he is too tired. He said when the love is gone
there is no need to trace it back. When he sees that there are tears coming out
from her eyes, he didn’t feel anything. She remembers that when they were
surfing together she asked her if she falls into the water would he hold her tightly.
He answered that he will always be with her to face against the wind and wave,
and he is willing to sacrifice for her. She realised now that the promise that
he made have already disappeared. Being loyal to him has become a weakness. Their
fairy-tale have been destroyed by him. Really, he just treat her as a lifebuoy,
then let just through her to the sea. Before her dream comes true, he already
got sick of her. All it left now is just a series of sad scene. Every minute
she is thinking that she can turn time backward so that they could return to
the day when he still love her. Looking at their photos from the past, she felt
very painful. She wonder how would her wound be healed. She knows that she can’t
escape this fate and he is cold-eyed and would just witness her breaking. Hope
