The
song for today is “雅俗” by Siu Hau Tang (鄧小巧). Siu Hau was a contestant
on the Hong Kong version of The Voice, though, she only came 6th. While back
then I find her to be very average, today after hearing this latest song, I
actually quite look forward to her other new songs. The direct English
translation of the title is “Elegant and vulgar”. Like many other people, I
found the way she sing this song ivery similar to Candy Lo.
The
lyrics of the song talks about how the protagonist want the two extreme. She
said: “I wanted to listen to a symphony, but I also wanted to be with him so
brightly that we can play in the dark. Who will say you have fallen? Wanted to
have full body of gold, but I want a dancing cow boy even more. Who will say
you are lonely? Oh, in this city, who we all have our own measurement? Will
elegant and vulgar coexist, lived for each other and pray for each other? Let’s
break the boring situation together. Come everyone, stop distinguishing between
you and me, as we all exist. Remain in which era, when spring arrive the flower
will blossom again. How will I get others to love me? Lack personality or too
cute, or I have got something that others will dislike me. But one day you will
be treated. I wanted to wear the sailor uniform, but I wanted to put on the
school uniform that I have been striped. Who said you are murky. Oh, this city, even though it is too vulgar,
but don’t be so easily to return to vulgar. Come everyone, stop distinguishing
between you and me, as we all exist. Remain in which era, when spring arrive
the flower will blossom again. How will I get others to love me? Lack
personality or too cute, or I have got something that others will dislike me.
But one day you will be treated. Perhaps waiting for the other is too cruel. I
only wanted to live more comfortably. Come everyone, stop distinguishing
between you and me, hold hand and be together. Wishing that in some era we
could let go of our hate. Even if others don’t like me, I will still carry my
cuteness. Or perhaps there is something that make us all freeze, and then two
days later we all disappeared.” Hope you will like the song.
