This
song is about divorce. What it talks about is how children feel when his
parents got divorced. In the lyrics, it uses seashell as a metaphor for parents’
protection for the kids. When they decided to divorced, it is like the seashell
has broken off from the kid, leaving whatever inside unprotected. In the
lyrics, it also mentioned that people tease the kid because of his parents’
divorce, and that he had to learn how to protect himself from harm. He feels so
unhappy that it was difficult for him to laugh. In the lyrics, you can tell the
kid feel that he is the victim of the incident, because his parents just sign
on the divorce paper and they have freed themselves, but no one said sorry to him.
So at the end of the lyrics, the kid make a promise to himself that when he got
married, he will spend a lot of time with his children.
This
song is very touching. I have never experienced any of these nor did anyone
around me experience this. But I guess this is the power of the singer. In one
of his mini concert, he sung when he sing this song. He review that his parents
were divorced when he was a kid, so I think this song really described his
life. I guess it is like Eason’s “單車”,
when they put real emotion into the song, we could feel the same way by just
listening to the song. Hope you will enjoy this song.
