The song for today is “圍牆” by Candy Lo. I used to look forward to Candy’s album, but these days she hardly produces any new songs. The direct  English translation of the song is “Wall”

This song came from her 2007 album “Process”. The album was quite revolutionary, from what I remember it was really a first (and only) attempt in Hong Kong to release an album in usb drive. Anyway, back to the song. From my understanding, 圍牆 is about growing up. It talks about a kid who had growth up in a family which her parents didn’t communicate with her too much. She used to wonder a lot about the world, but yet, her parents never took her questions seriously. She found her happiness only within the boundary that was set by her parents. Because of the environment that the protagonist grown up in, she built a “wall” between herself and others to isolate herself. Hope you will enjoy this song.
