The
song that I chose for today is “可能” by Dave Wong. Previously I have
talked about Dave’s “安妮”, this song share the same melody as “安妮”
except it is the Cantonese version. But note that because mandarin and Cantonese
pronounce differently, so the two songs have different lyrics to match the
melody. The direct English translation of the title is “Maybe”.
The
lyrics of the song are about love, the protagonist knows that his relationship
with his girlfriend is fading away, but he is not willing to give up. At the
start, the protagonist said it is raining lightly, and it is approaching by the
wind. This rain is like it is connecting all the questions in his heart. He
asked her to meet here, but it had already pasted their agreed time, all he can
do now is to continue to wait in the rain. Seeing each other at night seems
that they are close, but he felt that her heart is no longer with him. He doesn’t
want to ask her to explain why she didn’t come, all he wanted is that she could
be closer. Maybe she just wanted to test him; maybe they guessed each other too
much; maybe they have past their brightest time, so perhaps it is best to left
him behind. Maybe they could have work harder; maybe seeing each other will
give them more pain; maybe she will ignore him. He never knows whose fault is
