Happy Chinese New Year, this is the first day of the Year of Horse, hope that you will be happy and healthy for the coming years. The song that I chose for today is “祝福” by Jacky Cheung. The direct English translation of the title is “Blessing”. Although this song share the same name as Sally Yip’s “祝福” but they are two completely different songs.

The lyrics of the song are about two close friends (perhaps they were once a couple) is being separated, but wish the other could be with them. It starts by telling us that they don’t need to speak or ask but they understand what each other wanted to do. This moment, they are looking at a candle, and they wanted time past quietly. Don’t wave the hand nor turn back when he played the song, because he is worry that he will start crying. All he wishes is that his smiley face could always remain in her heart and be with her for every season. Some sadness and some worries, it is hard to avoid bitter and pain in life. Only losing something once would make us understand how to treasure and own something. It is hard to put away a relationship and hard to keep someone.
