The
song that I chose for today is “家教” by Albert Chau (周吉佩).
I don’t think Albert sing anymore. I never heard this song before, I randomly
got to this song on the internet and I quite like it. The direct English translation
of the title is “Family education”.
The
lyrics of the song are about life. The protagonist is asking why we have to prepare
what comes next after happiness; why sadness could exchange for a pure heart.
We are better than others and they look up to us, but this is not all of it.
Why accepting is more realistic than looking forward; why feeling safe is more
important than the motive of challenging. We try our headrest and not stubborn,
this would be the best style. Boring philosophy, we can only force ourselves to
memorise it; these smart logic, how could we learn it all just through family
education. So who would let him to study more. When he lost, he cry and he
understand why. Losing something means that you will gain freedom; you just can’t
get something that doesn’t belong to you. When you have fallen too many times, you
would know when to let go. When he can lift the rock, he let go. He doesn’t
have the strength to travel to the moon, then perhaps he could travel around on
Earth. You need to work hard, but also know your limitation. No one seems to
see that trying hardest in everything is training; you will only understand
when you carry a heavy burden. So who would let him to study more. When he
lost, he cry and he understand why. Losing something means that you will gain
freedom; you just can’t get something that doesn’t belong to you. When you have
fallen too many times, you would know when to let go. When he can lift the
rock, he let go. He doesn’t have the strength to travel to the moon, so perhaps
gazing at the moon is enough. From now on, he starts to understand there is no
need to force himself to jump too high. He started to understand that troubles
all come from the fact that he just wanted to show off. Why the so call success
always be measure by what others saw us achieved. There is no need to walk
every step with a purpose. It is enough by just learning to let go. Why the so
call grow up is all about what improvement we made. His dad once taught him how
to run, don’t pay attention to the speed, but just focus on achieving the best
breathing rhythm. Hope you will like the song.
