The
song that I chose for today is “苦口良藥” by Andy Hui and Flora Chan. This
was a theme song for a TV drama. The song was quite popular back in that time.
Note that Flora Chan is an actor, but she sing quite ok for this song. The
direct English translation of the title is “Bitter medicines are good medicines”.
The
lyrics of the song are about love. This song is a bit hard to translate as it
uses some concept from Chinese medicine to describe love. It starts off telling
us that the protagonists used to love each other, but for some reason they
breakup. Their happy memories is now reminding about their pain. But both of
them feel that the pain is an indicator to tell them to start over again. Hope
