The song that I chose for today is “傷心尋回犬” by Gigi Leung. I used to love this song so much that I keep looping it day and night. The direct English translation of the title is “Sad retriever”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist felt sorry about her dog when she broke up with her boyfriend. It starts off saying that the ex-boyfriend took the dog away with him when he moves out. The dog looks sad knowing that it will have to move out as well. The protagonist said that if their relationship has really got to the point of no return, then perhaps the dog shouldn’t suffer from this. She wonder if it is her ex-boyfriend being crude or he just wanted to hurt her more, so if he just hate her, she wanted him to focus on her and treat her bad, he shouldn’t drag the dog in. She said that the dog is too nice, it cried. She know that it wish it could stay in the house and play with her, so why it have to suffer. She believes that if it knows how to speak, it will try to convince her ex-boyfriend to let it stay behind. She wishes that time could go back, if he could just stay to find his love again, and perhaps she could manage to stay calm, then it could retain it loves as well. Hope you will like the song.
