15th Jul 2016 (幸災樂禍 – Eason Chan)

The song for today is “幸災樂禍” by Eason Chan. This is a reader request. The direct English translation of the title is “Gloat”.

While from the title, you may think that this song is about making fun of other people misfortune, but it is not. The lyrics are actually about now to not be drag down by your misfortune as better things could happen the next minute. The protagonist said: “Who lose money? Got dumped? No need to be down, just go for a walk and you will return to the top. Take a walk, you will be in a relationship and got money. If you have left early, what to do if your fate changes the next month? Getting down to the bottom, fight back to the end, then you will receive this antibody, never be infected again. Because of that, things wouldn’t be smooth forever, nor be bad forever, and that’s what makes it fun. If the market is quiet, keep working. If the plague has no responses, then change the serum, win at the top. This year there are bad luck and many dangerous situations; treat it as a fire drill, training your responses. So you should be happy even if you are in danger (hard to breath is better than having a sickness that could not be healed). Losses aren’t light, think about whether you should change course to fix things. The tragic forced out your energy, rebounded and salute. Rebounded and salute. Sense of danger is important, rather have the war happen sooner. Once you have gone through all the military training, you can sleep on nails. Rare to have these sense of danger, but because of this natural disaster we managed to get very close to each other. Whether we know each other or not, we can instantly become close friend, it’s fun. If the market is quiet, then tab on the shoulder and keep fighting. If there is no solution to the plague, then work together to create a serum, to spread humanity. Thanks for these difficulties to let me see that those that have been to lower places knows how to react.  The bounciness of happiness (the strategy of moving back). The view of the bottom of the valley, couldn’t see stars. Making pudding with you during pain. It is warm to even live at a garbage collection point. (with you, disappointment become excitement). Hay, hay, hay, if life only have ice; hay, hay, hay, make a cup of slurpee. Hey, hey, hey you are your own saviour. Hey, hey, hey. A street full of bad luck and dangerous situation, treat it like a fire drill, training your responses. So you should be happy even if you are in danger. The scenery at the bottom of the valley perhaps may not see any stars. If you are happy, living in garbage collection point could be warm as well.” Hope you will like the song.
