This
song is about a girl being deeply hurt by her ex-boyfriend. The story of the
lyrics goes like this: When the protagonist was young, her mum told her that being
truthful and treating other nicely, others will treat you nicely in return. But
as she growth, she realised she got more wound by keeping these words. To took
out her heart to her boyfriend, but in return she got hurt. She felt that it is
like Jesus taking the cross on his back, she need to suffer to bring goods to
the world, the more she give the worse she will get in return. So she decided
to protect herself by “building a wall” to protect herself from harm, yet she
know that this wall will also isolate her from the rest of the world, meaning
that she will have to live the rest of her life alone. She wishes that one day she would know what to
do.
This
story is quite true in our world today. I found that you can’t be too nice to
others. When you be nice to others, a lot of them will take advantages of you.
This is rather sad, because if it keeps going like this, there wouldn’t be many
nice people left, as more and more realised that being to others means that
being mean to yourself.
Hope
you will enjoy the song.
