A Song a day: 17th Oct 2013 (無事常相見

The song that I chose for today is “無事常相見” by Leon Lai. This song was from 2006, but I only heard it for the first time a few days ago on radio. I love the melody of the song and the lyrics are very meaningful as well. The direct English translation of the title is “Nothing special but meet very often”.

The lyrics of the song are about friendship. It begin with the protagonist said that he believe he is our best friend. He will always think of the things that happened between us. He wishes that we wouldn’t just focus on climbing up in our career and forget about our friends. Perhaps it is hard for him to make an appointment with us, but when we meet up it is worth it. The people that we call close friend are all together. How could we give up people that we know from childhood. We will meet when we wanted to meet. We wouldn’t worry to be forgotten for hundred thousand years. There may be nothing special, but we will still meet up and he will listen to our jokes. We might be meeting our partner every day, he wishes that we could forget about our partner for one day to meet with him. When he sees us, he will treat it like a wedding party. Between us, we will never talk about money, and that’s why our friendship last forever. There are no hidden plans in our relationship, and we never tried to take advantages of each other.
