The
song that I chose for today is “認真” by Vivian Lai. This is a song from
1997 and it is one of Vivian’s classic. The direct English translation of the
title is “Serious”.
The
lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist told us that at the beginning,
she was attracted to this guy because it was him and the environment feels
right. Back then, he tried all he can to get close to her, because of that she
make up her mind very easily. When they were close, they loved each other so
much. But now, when they break up, it seems that this moment is most memorable.
She was serious and cared about this relationship, but he loves someone else
more than her. She felt that as if their contract is ended and so he doesn’t
need to fulfil his promises anymore. She had been serious and sacrificed for
the relationship, but now he causes her to feel down. She knows that she
shouldn’t think of him, but she can’t, so the only thing that she could do is
to cry. This time she is very unhappy because she is the protagonist and
because she feel down. Love, always get people to be excited at the beginning. She
