The song that I chose for today is “時光機” by Terence Chui (小肥). This was one of the songs from Terence’s first album, it was quite popular back at that time. The direct English translation of the title is “Time machine”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist was thinking that if he wasn’t rich, he might think more of his friend. If God help him, he would have work harder to show himself. If he had hold her hands as he thought on the day they dated. If, when his opponent first appeared, he had the courage to show himself and fight him until his dead, then he wouldn’t need to hide his love. He just wanted to finish the time machine for her, so that everyone can travel beyond their lifetime. The floor would be full of bullets as he tried to keep his opponent away from her. He would plan his approach and protect her every day. He wouldn’t run away and take charge of everything. No matter how low his self-esteem was he would have been holding onto her today. How great would it be if he had the courage; if he was angry when he saw his opponent; if he was smatter and if he managed to show her his love before his opponent… Let it go, he found that there is no point to think about his faults as the time machine start to count down. He wanted things to change, so he may as well tell her directly. That day he didn’t had the courage to hug her and ran away, causing him to lost the relationship. Now he is so weak that he just imagined he could have built this machine to meet her again. He can’t change the ending that had already happened, so he could only wait for the next century.
