A Song a day: 18th Dec 2014 (思念

The song for today is “思念” by Sammi Cheng. As mentioned yesterday, this is the first Cantonese version of the song “夢醒時分” by Sarah Chen. The direct English translation of the title is “Yearn”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist thinking of his ex-boyfriend. She said, tonight she once again sitting against the TV quietly, watching the video taken on that day. Remembering the moment when they were smiling during the recording, they should have been closer and more in love. These old faces, old time and old images accompanying her for many days and she is still not sick of them. Though the video she can replicate his laughter and smile, but she can’t reproduce yesterday. So lost and lonely, he is no longer sharing his warm with her. Through her tears filled burry eyes she go through the video again, she found it very warm. People can always record beautiful memories, but once love disappeared it will never return.
