The
song for today is “月影” by Samantha Lam (林志美).
Samantha was very famous in the 80’s. The song for today was released in 1984, it
was the Cantonese cover version of “Moonlight shadow” by Mike Oldfield. The
direct English translation of the title is the same as the English version of
the song “Moonlight shadow”.
The
lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that she once hold his
hand to walk into a moony night, stepping on those half woken Moonlight shadow.
They accompanied them over a thousand moony night, it is those half awaken
moonlight shadow. They hug in the middle of the moonlight shadow, she couldn’t
feel the wind even if it was so cold. She felt that as if she was the little
green grass that was touched by the moonlight. All she thinks of is tonight,
and hope that tomorrow will never come. Sadly he had already left her, all
there is left are those cold and greyish moonlight shadow to accompanying her to
go through these heartbroken moony night. All there is left are these cold and
grey moonlight shadow. In the middle of the moonlight shadow, she felt annoyed,
all she hope for is that tomorrow morning could arrive earlier. But sadly the
moonlight shadow make her to walk at night, hoping to meet him on the way.
Spring arrived, autumn arrived, still waiting, but sadly he never arrived.
Winter arrived, wind blow, no one is there at night, only the wind was there to
listen to her. She couldn’t feel how cold the wind was as they were hugging in
the moonlight shadow. She couldn’t feel how cold the wind was, as she is like a
little green grass that was touched by the moonlight. She only think of tonight
and never hope for tomorrow morning. Hope you will like the song. I have also linked to the original English
version for comparison, enjoy :D
