14th Apr 2015 (迴旋木馬的終端 – Gigi Leung)

The song for today is “迴旋木馬的終端” by Gigi Leung. This song is a reader request. It was the theme song for the movie “Turn Left, turn right” (向左走向右走), which was based on a picture book by a Taiwanese artist Jimmy Liao (幾米). The direct English translation of the title is “The ending of marry-go-round”.

The lyrics of the song are about fate. It said, a road, a person, a thousand miles, have the characters in the story got together? A moon, a sun, a breath, where will she meet him again. I million, a hundred, a hundred million, how many possible partner are on earth. Road, tip of the shoes, are all broken, who is on the opposite side of the road watching her passes by. Why God covered his face, why let him wash up on her shore. Fate hasn’t arrived, so let her wait until then. Keep turning, meet again at the end of the marry-go-round. One step, one year, a sigh, seeing the backside of fate and she turned. Afternoon, dusk, to night, beauty once existed but she blinked. Fate, perhaps is like the curve of fireworks. Keep flowing, slide across the sky to meet again. Fate hasn’t arrived, so let her wait until then. Keep turning, meet again at the end of the marry-go-round. Fate, perhaps it didn’t want to build up so early on. Hope you will like the song.
